Ok the backstory, I have a form/trim die for forming brass from 30-40 krag and a F/L sizing die and seating die all marked .244 krag from an unknown manufacture. no box or paperwork. formed brass looks great but still has rounded shoulders kind of like a weatherby. i think they need to fireformd in the rifle chamber and then fl sized. running them through the sizing die has no effect yet. searched ammo encyclopedia, cartridges of the world, handloaders manual of cartridge conversions, and the internet. found nothing for .244 krag. but found .243 rkb in cartridge conversions. pacific has chamber reamer for this one. measuring the length to shoulder and length of shoulder and approx shoulder angle this one is REALLY close. but over all length is a little long. the neck is longer on my formed brass. midway lists rcbs form dies for 6mm krag but i can't find any info on this in my books. anyone have ANY inoformation on these? specs for 6mm krag brass? info on 243 rkb? .244 krag? thinking about chambering a barrel to .243 rkb to try to fireform but would be expensive to find they don't match. could cerosafe be used on the sizing die to measure actual dimensions? any help would be great, thanks in advance. Mike.
