I believe the T/C barrel diameter for the 7.62X39 is .308 inches.  Personally, if I were going to have a barrel for that cartridge I'd want a barrel in the same diameter originally used for the cartridge.

As for is you trade request too high?  I wouldn't know because you don't mention what your trade request is.

I would take the barrel off your hands....
My FFL holder requires any firearms to be shipped to them via another FFL holder.  So, If I make an offer on a firearm please let me know if this is capable of being done from the start.  Please do NOT mark an item "SPF" to me until we "both" are happy with and in agreement on shipping, funds and the transaction in general.   Thanks

Like Grumulkin says, it's probably a .308 bore. Have to shoot American ammo in it to get the best accuracy. Needs to be a .311 bore to accurately shoot Russian ammo.

I have a SR-18 in 7.62x39--I don't know if the barrel is .308 or .311 but it shoots both surplus ammo and my reloads using 125 Gr .308 bullets real well. I will admit that it took about 200 rounds for the groups to tighten up to about 1 inch at 100 yards, but both shoot well. When I start back shooting and reloading for it I intend to get some bullets in the 150 gr range to reload (.308) to see how they do.
The lack of interest may be due to what ever price it is that you are asking. Though I think that a barrel for a handy rifle in that caliber may sell a bit quicker.

I have aT/C factory Encore barrel in 7.62X39, it has a .308 bore. I shot a few Wolf .310 rounds in it before I knew of the difference. Hoping that I hadn't ruined the barrel, I got some brass and 125gr Sierra bullets. It is a great shooter with the 125s, as it was with the Wolfs. I must have shot just enough of the oversize rounds to break the barrel in. It is on a .308 diameter diet now and is a keeper!

You might get a better response if posted in the (Thompson Center Handguns Sponsored by Ed's TCs) forum. http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/board,24.0.html

In the Encore platform I can see the 7.62x39 as a BIG WHITE ELEPHANT, since I would choose the 308 Winchester over it.

I feel that T/C making it a .308 diameter bore is more for the hand loader. RCBS 7.62x39 dies come with 2 sizing buttons, one for .311 bullets and the other for .308 bullets. Its smart since there are so many light bullets available in .308 vs .311 or .312.
