I wonder what the gun grabbers would do if they were all attacked by a bunch of Souix warriors with those little short bows and stone tipped arrows? Would it occur to them the real weapon is the man and not the tool?

With all the puns flowing here, there is one sad fact that needs to be thought about.
The man killed was the father of the boy who killed him. He fought his son long enough for the calss to "evacuate". The boy had earlier killed his fathers girl friend.
Now there should have been enough guts in the classroom to have prevented this murder---but "no", the scum didn't even make an attempt to help out--just ran.
Wyoming used to be a stand-up state. This gives a hint of more citified ways of looking at things.
I, really am suprised and a "lot" dissapointed.

Most of those kids are 18 years old, most of them were girls...betting alot of those kids may not of even been from Wyoming in the first place.
The fruitcake doing the killing was a convicted felon from Conneticut, that drove into do this dastardly deed the day before.
Wyoming is a standup place, altho we get alot of nesters and naredowells from places like Texas, and Iowa etc, but to blame a bunch of kids in a philosphy class for trying to get out of harms way , just sorta don't pass much muster...
A better thing to wonder about is how did Conneticut let a convicted felon get out of their state without knowing about it?

I saw a picture of the class---those were not kids---they sure did not act like adults.
I still am angry that someone didn't try--and you can't justify running.

Simply pointing out the absolute stupidity in your coming down on a handful of 18 year old kids in a class room with some lunatic just shot the instructor in the head with an arrow, and jumped him with a rather large knife.
I don't recall anybody coming down on a couple dozen combat hardened soldiers for not disarming and killing the terrorist in the middle of them with a 9mm?
It's just a disgusting judgement you passed down on people you don't know, about a condition in which you were not present and actually knew few details...

I tend to agree with William. 18 year olds are adults, but I doubt they were that young. My son is 23 and still going to the university. He will be 24 by the time he graduates, as will most of his friends. The attitude today with most people is flee not fight. The young people of this country have been taught to not fight, but that flight is the way to go. I find it disgusting. When the teacher attacked the aggressor, why did the rest of them not attack as well. Six people could have overpowered him easily. Another example of Sheeple instead of stand up men and women.

I also have a different theory about the fighting between the father and son. I don't think the father was fighting to give the students time to get out. That was the last thing he would have been thinking. He was fighting for his life, that was his only thought. When a man is cornered and injured, he will fight as long as he is capable to prevent further injury, and to stop his attacker. Too bad the sheep ran instead of helping him.

Several years ago word got out a bunch of students were planning to kill some teachers at a North Pole school. The hockey team, and a few other friends caught those students. They took them for a long walk one Friday afternoon at the end of the school day. Monday morning the ones doing the threatening had a change of heart and attitude. They also decided GOTH was not the look they desired anymore. Tragedy averted and situation handled. Authorities were alerted but by the time they responded it had been handled. End of story.

Those students should have gone forth and helped the guy being attacked instead of running like a bunch of cowardly sheep. They left the teacher to fight alone. If helped he might have survived.

No, it does not apply. Your students had time to orginise and prepare (overnight). They were not presented with a decision they had to make in a slit second. None of us (You, William, or I........ KNOW what we would do i the same situation).

No as I said forget the Hockey players, The hockey players are irrelevant to this. I'm talking about the college students that ran off and left the guy fighting for his life alone. None of them went to his aid.

You may not know what you would do, but I definitely know what I would do. Running would not be an option. I've been in similar situations before, I took the gun away from the attacker. Wanted to shoot him, but was too busy beating him senseless with his own gun. I'm not a violent person, I just believe the best defense is a stronger offense. Someone attacks me I'm going on the offense. When the guy shoved a gun in my face in DC and yelled, "Pullover mothXXXXXXXX or I'm going to blow your head off". I crushed him between the door of my truck and the top of the car he was hanging out of. Yea he shot at me, but I was holding of his wrist, and controlling the gun. Still got that gun. Cheap Hi Point 45 auto. Shoots well, just heavy.

My son has already proven what he will do in a situation like this. He saw a friend attacked by a guy with a knife one night. He tackled the attacker, then broke the attackers arm when he tried to stab him. My son was too late to save his friend, he died on the way to the hospital. My son was just a Sophomore in high school at the time.

Last I checked, a crossbow bolt will not go through a heavy desktop. I've seen them be lucky to go
through a sheet of one inch plywood. This and the time it would take this guy to reload would have
been enough to rush him. The problem is,where were the ones who had the courage to rush this guy
instead of running and screaming like sheeple ? A room full of athletes and they were the first to hit
the door. On second thought, I do wonder what would have happened to this nut case if this had
happened in Texas ! Most likely he would have walked real funny with that crossbow shoved up
where the sun don't shine. Then his mama would have gotten a letter telling her how much he
liked it. Don't mess with Texas, and do not believe anything the MSM tells you about her sons and
daughters.

Depends on the crossbow. I have a little 80 lb pull pistol type that will go through 1" plywood at the range we're talking about here. I timed it--- 10 seconds to cock and reload. (It has a cocking lever. Stronger takes longer, of course.) And I don't blame the others--- the sheep. Something like 95% of everyone in a fight-or-flight situation will run. That's why soldiers have to be trained. Sure, more goats could have probably stopped him, but chances are there weren't any around.
