Hog hunting near Kiowa OK

How is the hog hunting near Kiowa OK, just south of Mcalester? Have a chance to go hunt a little chunk of private land here in the near future and was wondering if there was a good chance to kill some hogs. Thanks.

been a long time since i was in
that area, but between there and
antlers usta be a mess of hogs
everywhere.

if they are there, the sign should
be obvious. be plenty of rooted-up
areas and mud rubs. if they are
close by at the time, the smell will
give 'em away too.


good luck with it and don't forget extra
knives and sharpening gear and rubber
gloves. butchering one is the true test
of a knife.

i wish i had a way to post
a picture of the damage they
did last month in part of my
hay meadow. rooted out a
spot about 20 ft around and
about 18 inches deep in one
place. more work again

nope. close to crockett forest,
not quite on the el camino reale


a friend (now deceased) was from southern
oklahoma and we used to roam all over
mccurtain and pushmataha counties and
thereabouts. saw my first wild turkey and
razorback hog up that way. another friend was
from antlers. rambled around there too.
