Gun Control in Virginia in 1639
« on: December 01, 2012, 08:09:47 PM »
America's first known gun control law passed by the Virginia colonial legislature in 1639.   It banned "negroes" from owning guns, but required that whites have guns and ammunition or be fined.

January 1639/40-ACT X.    "ALL persons except negroes to be provided with arms and ammunition or be fined at pleasure of the Governor and Council."

Racist origins of gun control... I've heard it before.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

In NYC it was also aimed at Blacks, then Italians, now everyone that has big money or is important can get a CCW for a fee.

Funny thing is in NYC many people of all color pack guns, with no CCW,strictly for protection!
