Anti-gun crowd takes down big gun childhood idol............
« on: December 02, 2012, 03:11:07 AM »
Bazooka Joe is getting chewed up and spit out after 59 years

They gave him low-slung jeans and they turned his ballcap backwards to try and give him a more contemporary feel. But after 59 years, the Topps gum people are tired of Bazooka Joe's act. So they're sending him and his pals Pesty, Mort and Toughie into the indignity of semi-retirement. The images will still appear irregularly on new inserts that will include brainteasers and links to online videos and games, but the comics are history. Unlike the rock-hard bubblegum and Joe's cornball jokes, which were mostly prehistoric. But before this partial exile, could somebody at Topps tell us: Why does he need the eye patch?
