Israel to withhold tax transfer to Palestinians as punishment over UN statehood recognition  Published December 02, 2012
Associated Press    JERUSALEM –  Israel says it will withhold more than $100 million in taxes and other funds the Jewish state collects on behalf of Palestinians to punish them for their successful bid to win U.N. statehood.
Israel's Cabinet on Sunday also passed a resolution saying it would not negotiate on the basis of the U.N. General Assembly's recognition of a state of Palestine in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza Strip.
 
Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz said the government would use the money it was to transfer to the Palestinians to pay down their debt to the Israel Electric Corp. and other Israeli bodies.
This was the second act of reprisal by Israel. On Friday, Israel announced it would press ahead plans to build thousands of settler homes.

IMO Israel has shown a great deal of restraint when fighting with Hamas and Hezbollah. IMO, they should be given credit for showing such great restraint and not wiping them off the map...(as Iran has vowed to do to Israel)

Palestine was never, historically or geographically, a country..."Palestinian" was a derogatory term used by the Romans to describe the inhabitants of that geographical area of their empire. on the ancient maps, it was shown as a territory of the roman empire. after WWI, the British were appointed  as administrators of the territory they called "Palestine"...most of which consisted of current day Israel.


is the UN looking to replace current day Israel with a state of Palestine? that ain't gonna happen either. Israel is here to stay.

So, Isreal is wrong to no longer give into extortion or a protection racket that isn't protecting her ?
Sorry i fail to see how standing up for herself against thugs and liers that she is doing anything
wrong. It is refreshing to see at least someone on the block has grown a pair and and is doing what
should have been done long ago. You make a comparison, to not do this is like you supplying the
robber who comes after you with the gun to rob you with.Like we are supplying our government with
the money through high taxes to change and ruin the country we once knew.

Why don't we just cut out the middle man and learn to slap ourselves around? That way when our government pulls up in its pink Cadillac with gangster white walls and wants to bi*ch slap us around
again we can save them the trouble ? Now get yo a**es back out there and stop complaining so
we can pay the UN so we can play on its turf !!!

 Excuse me Ms. Anna, but its the Palestinians that are having their homes and land confiscated and lives ruined. You might want to research who the thugs and liers are.  That $100 million is theirs....its their's and its being extorted from them based on some very whackdoddle logic; obviously to further impoverish/punish them and diminsh their newly UN approved statehood. when and where did this occur? has Israel threatened to commit genocide against "Palestinians"? or Iran? or Egypt? as i recall...and as history has documented... Arab nations have savagely attacked Israel on more than one occasion with the intent to "Wipe her off the face of the earth" since she was re-established in 1948 as a result of a vote in the UN; she not only survived, but triumphed over the onslaught of vastly numerical, forces.
