H&R Ultra Varmint Rifle .223 24" Bull Laminate

H&R Ultra Varmint Rifle .223 24" Bull Laminate . Is this gun/caliber getting decent reviews?  I have lots of brass in.223 rem. And I'd like to set this single up for the heavier bullets as I'm sure it is a 1 in 8 or 9 twist.  I have a lead on one NIB for $280  I have a CZ 527 for the lighter stuff.  Opinions would be appreciated.

I have had one for several years now.  Mine is a 1-12 twist and i think the newer ones are a 1-9 twist.  I actually ended up cutting the barrel down to 18" since i wanted more of an all around gun for walking and longer range.  its my go to rifle for everything but deer and turkey.  I havent tried anything over 55gr bullets but im sure you could get great results out of heavy match bullets in yours.  I reload using Hornady 55gr spsx bullets, 25 grains of H4895 and Federal GMM primers.  This 3 shot group was at 100 yds.

Welcome!  ;) Twist is either 1:12" or 1:9", early NEF/H&R ejector barrels were 1:12", later are 1:9", anything made 2005-2007 could be either, extractor barrels are most likely 1:9", other than that check the twist with a rod per the FAQs, there's a twist rate chart and build year list with that info.   :)
