Well Folks, I have now seen one of the really
"RARE" ones!
A Shore Nuff Bonafide Model 1911 Mexican
"MONDRAGON" SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE!
This was the first mass produced semi-auto
military rifle and was manufactured By SIG.
Unfortunately I could not get my paws on it!
Literally, the owner would not let anyone handle it.

Ok you got my attention now??  Where can I get a picture of it and what caliber is it?  The oldest semi auto I have seen so far is the french one on sarco's website and actually I thought it was the first semi-auto made. Maybe its the first semi auto used in battle? (WWI)       BigBill

It was 5.2x68 first the a 7mm, very interesting gun.  There isn't much info on it because it took me a few searches to find something on it my first search was "1911 mexican mondragon semi auto rifle" my second search proved to be better  "1911 SIG mondragon semi auto rifle" my point is we have to change the words around sometimes to find exactly what we want computers sure are tricky sometimes.
