Grouping will depend on your rifle. Winchester 64 gr. Powerpoint comes to mind, probably available most everywhere and pretty cheap. I have some Hornady 55 gr. GMX rounds, but haven't shot anything with them yet.

There aren't a lot of choices in 223 ammo suitable for deer, if it were me(won't be me tho cuz it ain't legal here for deer), I'd start with the least expensive ammo and go from there. The 64gr Win PP would be a good choice, particularly in a 1:12" barrel. Just keep the barrel cool, take your time between shots, I only shoot 2-shot groups with any of my big game Handis, any more is a waste of ammo since you should make the first shot count any way.  ;)

I like Quick's thinking... make the first shot count, and only need one for backup

.22CF's aren't legal up here either for deer, but if they were, I'd lean towards a premium bullet, as they are moving right along, but I'd not want ANY weight loss....

does Barnes make a 55Gr TTSX?   if so, that'd be the first one I'd try
