Peshtigo71. I think you hit the nail right on the head. Since 1963 we have had the hippy movement, Vietnam, the drug culture, free sex, sexually transmitted disease, higher divorce rate, welfare state created, our industry going overseas. Like the Bible says, knowledge shall increase, but never coming to a knowledge of the truth.
In 1960 sexually transmitted disease was almost eliminated as well as most childhood disease. 35% of the American people worked in manufacturing. 85% of the American people had health care insurance. Most American women stayed home to raise kids and be homemakers. 90% of kids under 18 were still virgin.
When we kicked God out of schools and public prayer, He removed Himself from our public lives and the flood of sin and problems began. Sure we had some issues to deal with like civil rights, but not much else other than external pressure from communism.
Now we are a divided country. We know what works, and what has worked in the past, but we can never get these things done without America allowing Freedom OF Religion again. No one religion or denomination was ever supported by the government. It was all generic. Generic prayers were always offered, from both Catholic and Protestants. Even Jews who immigrated here didn't fight this. Muslims were here back then in Dearborn. I lived in Dearborn from 1959-62 and Muslims lived next door. They didn't even file a lawsuit to stop public prayer in schools, ballgames or otherwise. It was atheists. Muslims, Christians, and Jews all three agreed on the 10 commandments, no problem there.
