Maybe thats why they are "former" members of this site. It amazes me how many people think they can post any thing they want just because its free and annonamous. And then get bent out of shape when they are told to stop.   KN

Let them bash all they want.  Although old GB can be a bit crusty at times and come down hard on folks, the last time I checked he was the one paying the bill so the rest of us could pound the keyboards.

Well guess what quickdraw, I guess it happens everywhere to everyone.  

There are a number of people who do not like particular things and can't seem to find the time and resources to build anything better.  Just like the loudmouths who complain about the government and then don't bother to vote or participate in the process.

I have been to a lot of other sites and for the most part found them lacking to point I just don't care to visit them anymore.   Can this site be made better, sure it can.  But just as everything else, it is evolving and always improving.

Monitoring and moderating a discussion forum is a thankless job and I appreciate the time and effort that the moderators perform here.  On too many other places there is endless discussion over and over on the same points and it eventually gets into name calling and bad feelings.  People get their feathers up and huff off somewhere.

There is a downside to "free speach" as there is to censorship.  The trick is to hit a happy medium that encourages participants to feel comfortable in speaking their minds and be considerate towards the thoughts of others.  For the most part I think that medium is reached here.

Nicely said Thomas...I sincerely appreciate everyone that has assisted in making this such an excellent site. I spend a ton of time here, and everyones been very friendly and helpful.

That about sums up what I think of the bashers.  I HAVE BEEN to these other sites to check them out.  At best....they are PITIFUL.  Nobody sits around here bashing people on other sites.  If they can't follow a few simple rules of courtesy (yes courtesy), then they should just make a clean break and leave other people alone.  I cannot see for the life of me why anyone would want to participate on a forum where the biggest excitement in thier day is to smear G.B.  These sites have ABSOLUTELY nothing to say, they keep saying the same things over and over again.  Posts and inquiries that have any value or merit , or requests for information about shooting and/or outdoor sports take literally weeks to get a response.  Let's get real!  Do these people run around in real life telling everybody they meet, "I hate you, I hate you" ?  It would seem so.  A lot of us on here have had bumps and rubs and disagreements, but SOME of us have learned from it and have really grown up here and learned how to communicate like decent humans.  I would like to 'try' and count myself as one of those types of people, I am still learning.  In fact;...it seems that I 'learn' a little bit every day that I hang out here.  G.B.........Thank You sir, for the oppurtunity.

Boys i'm tellin ya, ya can't get along with everbody all tha time. Sooner or later everbody gonna disagree. I knows its hard to believe but tha hen gets fed up with me sum.
Let em go do their thing an run off. It will all be alright in the end. Most folks that hang their hat here often do so cause it is a good friendly source of information, openionated at times, but the sources are well informed. After all thats the reason ya ask a question, to get an openion.
Me, I like it here, visit some other places, there is one or two where tha folks is nice too.
GB is a good feller, he is alright in my books.

This is a subject that should die and the sooner the better. Let the immature and irresponsible be just that, but so long as they do it somewhere else. We have a good thing going here and there will always be someone who wants to spoil it.
