CUSTOMIZING A M28
« on: December 08, 2012, 01:09:25 AM »
Let's give me a hand here.
I have a M26 "Highway Patrol" that I am going  to have some things done to it.
First, I am going to get it hard chromed. But I would like some contrast between the body/frame and the cylinder.
What do ya'll suggest ?
These ideas don't have to be logical---I need some free thinking here.
Any other ideas about what you might do or have done to make one your own are appreciated.
Blessings

Here is a Pic of the work in progress. Here, also, is a thought of the stocks I am thinking of from Keith Brown.

PHotos of your M-28 bring back memories.

I had one of those many years ago that I foolishly sold.  One of many youthful indiscretions I have come to regret.

Bill I once converted a couple of 28s to .44 specials. Where did you get the grips on your 3rd pictuer(the ones with the diamonds), I thought those were only made for round butt guns? I have a pair like that but, in round butt configuration.

You might consider finding a m27 with a 3.5" barrel.  Find one that has the finish degraded from age/surface wear and in good or mechanical condition.  Put some money in a good re-finish and maybe a little into the mechanicals (if needed) and you'll have what you want for probably less dough.
