30 carbine no really
« on: December 13, 2012, 03:12:32 AM »
Well I picked up a 30 carbine adapter to use in a 308 rifle. To be honest it seems to shoot quite well. I have not put it on paper but have had no problen hitting rocks , dirt clods and cans . Even spent shotgun shells are fair game.
Here is my question does anyone have load data for heavy bullets in a 30 carbine ? I would like to get up to 160 - 200 grain bullets , jacketed.
I also wonder if 300 whisper or 300 Blackout load data could be reduced as a start point ? The load needs to stay sub sonic.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Try 6 gr. Unique and work up till you get the combo of speed and noise you want.  ;)  I like H110 with 110 or 120 gr., but it's a touchy powder that likes a fairly full case.  I like sierra's 150 gr. Gameking for a lower velocity spire point.  ;)
