What's it worth?
« on: December 13, 2012, 02:45:42 PM »
I still have my fathers H&R 22, 949 revolver and was just wondering what it's worth not that i would sell it, has too much sentimental value since it was the last gun he purchased before he passed away in 1969. I was just wondering. It's like brand new and still shoots well. Also I was just wondering if I can use 22 LR ammo? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check Gunbroker.com once and a while and you can get an idea on value.  I have a much older 622 that I shoot regularly with different brands of new ammo.

Shoot it and enjoy it.  Clean it once and a while and it will last for a long time.

Thanks for the info. Mauser98us like I said I wouldn't get rid of it but don't have the box anyway. However I am definitely going to shoot it and enjoy the memories of my father when I do. i can remember going out in the woods with him and "plinking" bottles back in the day when it was a whole lot easier to do that kind of thing. Thanks guys.

Why don't you look on Gunbroker and see what they've been "Selling" for?
That'll give you a good idea, ignore the asking prices as some are unreasonable. Just look at the ones that have sold.

That was nice site. Showed me that awhile back one sold for $215.00. By the looks of that one mine is in better condition. Nice to know. Like I said I'll cherish it because of the memories!

Well people can put many different values on things, but they're only worth what someone will pay.  ;)
