huntsman 12 ga. muzzle loader
« on: December 15, 2012, 12:22:02 PM »
hi
Im new to this forum and im looking for some help with a muzzle loader i inherited. Its a huntsman 12 ga. muzzle loader. Im just wondering if anyone has a owners manual for the 12 ga. i contacted h&r and just got the run around. my big interest is in load and powder sizes. i plan on using it to hunt deer and i have heard that for buck shot i should use 80-90 grains. just looking any info on this gun anyone might have. hope its not lost to history!
thanks

Zak,

If you go up to the top of this forum, there is a sticky with a copy of the old Huntsman manual.

click on this link and go the the last post. You can save and or print a copy for your records.

80-90gr. FFg powder, appropriate wad stack and 9 OObuck (3 layers of three) and an overshot wad is a good place to start for a 12ga. Fine tune as required for best pattern.
