Dan Wesson Super Mag Model 40

Getting ready to pick one up with the 8" barrel and heavy sleeve, any one have links to company's still cranking out ammo?? I know Remington dropped it a few years ago,

I'm not surprised that no one has responded. Factory .357 Max ammo is rare. I don't know if there is a custom shop that makes it, you could try Google. Keep an eye on the auction sites, ammo comes up for sale once in awhile. If you load brass is available. If you don't load your not going to shoot your DW much, which is a shame. I really enjoy my 740.

At one time Midway sold Max brass.  Most shooters of the 357 SM use the Winchester brass when they can find it.  This brass is thicker and will last longer when you up load.  Just a note, the original stuff that Remington put out was shorter brass (Under 1.610)  The ideal bullet set up on these guns as most cast shooters do is to seat the LBT bullets almost flush with the end of the cylinder.  This is one of the things that improves accuracy.  If you cast, you want to slug your barrel and then buy a custom mould.  Mic your exit holes on your cylinder also.   Any re-loader can load for this gun, brass is sometimes hard to find.  Just food for thought.
