Maybe I'm jaded but I doubt the White House pays any attention to any petition that opposes their agenda. I sign them, but have never seen/heard that it made any difference at all. Even calls to my Representative ( who is a democrat, so he votes Party Line anyhow) do not work. Am I wrong, do these things help, really?

I have believed for more than a few years that the peoples' opinions and wants matter nothing to republicans or democrats.  They have their own agenda for you.  And they have nothing to do with what the middle class wants.
It's all a hot mess...........

I do believe we are wasting time contacting them. But do think it should be done any way, maybe a few listen. The only was we get to express our power is thought the direct vote for such a law or gun ban or what ever.

I read somewhere that for every snail mail letter congress critters get they believe there are ten of their constituents that think the same way. Email is easy. Whatever you send by email, print a copy and send it snail mail. I just thought of that.

The only public response Obama and his cronies are paying attention to are the opinions that only mirror his. All other opinions are useless. Like I've said before we the people have voted these monsters in, and we can't expect to change what they are, or their ideas after the voting is over. I figure they are going to hear enough responses for the elimination of semi-auto rifles, and other goodies from the ones that voted them in, that its going to happen. We can't vote in Marxists that are wishful to disarm citizens, then expect them to not trample on our 2nd Amendment rights, or any others for that matter.
Our government has succeeded in making enough people ignorant of our history, what their rights are, and the importance of them. You kind of know the ignorance runs deep when you hear fellow gun owners say things like "what does anyone need an assault rifle for". Or "you can't hunt with them anyway".  We can send all the e-mails, and sign all the pititions we can gather up, but I don't think its going to make any difference at all. We will not fail by not yelling, kicking, and screaming enough. The failure happened at the voting booth.

"WE" did not elect the illegal alien. The pablum sucking sheeple did. Those on the dole. Multi generational welfare families. You get enough people living off taxpayers ie: other peoples money, they will continue to elect those who promise to keep those welfare checks coming.

When the laws are passed, disobey. Civil disobedience. When they come to take the guns away, not so civil disobedience.

Gun Control IS Gun Violence.

Police will threaten with guns if you don't give up yours. Even if you DO nothing they will shoot. There will be SO much more violence when the gov' tries to enforce the unconstitutional confiscation laws than there ever was before. Our guns will break no laws. The police will engage in enforcement of illegal laws. Their guns will be used to break laws. Then ours will reply.

We know exactly who voted in Obama and his like, but we are one nation. Its just that many have traded some freedom for handouts, and the idea of safety. Just wondering how many of the Republicans that "we" voted for are going to cave in to more gun laws. So if Republicans cast their vote for say a ban on AR style rifles, are they any better than the ones that wrote the law? We like to think that democrats are evil and Republicans are good, but the fact is they are all corrupt, power hungry, and evil. We as a nation have a free election to vote in those that represent us. What we have is representative of we the people.
Hearts and minds will have to be changed, to change our representatives. Signing petitions will not do it.

We know how the Democratic Senate will vote on gun laws. The question is how will our favored Republicans vote, that I'm sure a lot of us here voted for. We will see how many of them have a spine.

We no longer live in a nation with a representative government. We live under a neo-aristocracy. Each of us will soon be faced with many weighty decisions to make. Do we surrender our guns to live out our lives peacefully? Do we feed the monster with our taxes enabling it to fund abortions?

Petitions to the Pres. are good but keep in mind he can not run again so they mean nothing to him. The people we should get on big time is our state rep. to the Senate and House. It seems that there should be an easy way to get email to them and I mean a mountain of pro gun mail. This is a serious time and we need to all get off our lazy butts and do our parts to keep our rights and our guns.

I signed but maybe we should be making petitions to CNN and their sponsors - maybe even boycott.  I read that Morgan interview and it was despicable. I can't imagine any agency that claims to do news to be that outrageous.  In a way it might be good - let the extreme antis hang themselves with silliness.

79,000 signatures now to deport Piers Morgan.   :D
Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

I did not sign any petition regarding Piers Moron. I wrote directly to CNN. I accused them of making rather than reporting news. I told them I was amazed that they hired him after he was fired from the English newspaper for fraudulent reporting. His diatribe against Larry Pratt proved he has nothing on his mind (mind?) except his own agenda. I called for Piers Moron (SIC) to be fired immediately or for CNN to admit they have nothing to do with reporting the news and to register as an advocacy group.

Petition the PM show to have Ted Nugent come back and "debate" PMs allegations??!! My wife (bless her heart) likes to watch both PM and Anderson C. ; which always torques me up,ha) I caught the one with Uncle Ted and PM was definitely intimidated, even though Ted was polite and statistics that PM couldn't refute. It was fun to watch...
