Accuracy of 44 mag. octagon hot shot barrel

What is your experience with the accuracy of the 44 mag octagon barrel made for the hot shot loads with the screw in choke?  I have no intention to use it with the hot shot capsules.  I plan to remove the choke and shoot mild cast bullet loads and full factory equivalent jacketed bullet loads in it.  Can anyone relate your experience with this set up?  I plan to use the iron sights that came with it.

Accuracy out of mine is very good but factory loads kick like a mule!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the input Alfred.  Today I found out for myself.  I bought the barrel from mpmax on the classified ads.  I got to the range (boy was it crowded!) and ran some of my mid-power cast re-loads through it.  Accuracy was very good, at least as good as I can hold it.  The recoil was pretty zippy even with mid-power loads.  I can imagine it would be a real handful with a heavy load.  I already have a 14 inch scoped heavy barrel 44 mag for my contender, and it is a tack driver, but VERY heavy.  The little 8 inch octagon barrel was much lighter and a real blast to shoot with the iron sights.  I might wind up shooting this more often than the 14 inch barrel.

I've got one of these barrels and the accuracy is downright surprising. I might add though, not as surprising as the recoil the first time I touched it off!! Or the fireball that looked nuclear:)  I very seldom use full loads through it. Only when someone wants a thrill or a light show. These Contenders are great fun. Twenty barrels  and still looking for more.

I just got one, and thought the recoil was better than my Ruger Super Redhawk, but not blackhawk.  Recoil wasn't my issue, but point of impact...I bench shot it with sandbags and at 50 feet with the rear sight cranked all the way down, it shoots 5 inches high!  Anyone else have this issue?
