Video - MONSTER 15.5 lb. Walleye - Bay of Quinte
« on: December 19, 2012, 07:51:42 AM »
This video is Part 2 of our Bay of Quinte walleye trip.
Here you'll see numerous fish being caught including one just under 12 pounds as well as a huge 15.5 pound trophy (at the 7:53
mark of the video).
It was an unusually mild December day with a bit of rain in the afternoon and a consistent 'walleye chop' all day. A good bite throughout with all of the popular stick baits producing well. Most fish released with a couple of the smaller ones taken for the table.

Hope you enjoy!

We're looking forward to the ice season here too. Temperatures are supposed to drop later this week, hopefully by the new year the ice will be safe enough to drop a line.

We're jealous! When does your ice season for walleye open? It's only a 14 hour drive ....

It opens on the first Saturday in May and runs till the end of February. The best fishing is early ice, 3 inches to 6 inches.

one thing about walleye and sauger. The best fishing is in the nastiest weather. Cold, windy , choppy , crappy... you know what I mean ;D   BUT dont ya just love it when ya got a biggin on.  As much as I love bass fishing there is nothing that trips my trigger more than a live well full of giant slabsides or sauger / walleye. ;D .... MMMMMMM blackened crappie
