Man I wish my new AR would get here!
« on: December 19, 2012, 09:52:10 PM »
My FFL ordered me a new Colt MT6400 Carbine two weeks ago. It's the "post-ban" compliant version of the Colt LE6920 Carbine.  Which is required here in New Yorkistan. My wife is getting it for me for my birthday (12-22) and Christmas. They ran out of "post-ban" compliant barrels so they had to wait until the had them to put the carbine together. They told my FFL over the weekend that they had it together and that it should be shipped soon. They even gave him the serial number. I wish it would get here soon!

Sorry NYH1,
(b)arrack and  (j)oe have decided it would be in the best interest of the children to block shipment of these evil instruments of war to non cartel members. FWIW my BD is 12/30. I would like an F18A, but would settle for a NightHawk Custom in 9mm.

Happy Birthday to all of us  :) :-* ;)
Yup!  ;)

My wife and I were at Herb Phipison's Army & Navy Store here in Central New Yorkistan a few hours ago (3:30 to about 5:00).  We were picking up the Remington Model 700 SPS 270 Win. we're giving our son for Christmas.  Second year in a row he's got a rifle/carbine for Christmas.  Last year we got him a Marlin 336Y 30-30 Win. (short 12" LOP stock and 16" barrel).

They had 25 to 30 AR15's and a half dozen AR10's in their display cases and more in the back last week when we were there.  They keep a lot of them in stock and regularly sell them, Stag, Smith & Wesson, Armalite, Ruger (piston AR IIRC), Olympic to name a few.  They had three Armalite AR15's and one Armalite AR10 when we got there.  They were just delivered before we got there.  When we left an hour and a half later there was only one Armalite AR15 left and someone was on their way in to buy it.

There were 8 of use waiting to have the back round check done.  They had a hard time getting through to do them.  We were the only non AR15/10 being bought.  One guy was buying his first AR15.  It was a Armalite carbine.  While we were waiting they grabbed a Armalite AR15 with a longer and heavier barrel for another guy.  The guy that was buying the carbine said if you have a long, heavier barreled one left I'll take that one too.  He bought his frist two AR's today.

They said they've sold all their stock and all the ones they could get since last Friday.  Over 60 AR15's and AR10's in all.  They have a few AK47's, a few SKS's a H&K of some sort, and two AR type 9mm carbines that take Glock magazines left.

I hope my Colt comes SOOOOOOON.  My FFL is texting me as I type this. . . . .we're still waiting!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!  NHY1!

I remember back in the early 80s, a dealer in Detroit advertised the arrival of 8 semi auto L1A1s, the Australian FN-FAL. I called about them and the dealer said they sold in one day, all of them, for the asking price of $2,000. He said "where the f-ers are getting the money I don't know." He related how one of our darker brothers arrived in a 'pimped out caddy'. He bout an L1A1 and 2000 rds of ammo. The dealer sensing something amiss rotated the gas block resulting in a single shot rifle. They buyer returned the next day complaining that the rifle would only shoot one round. The dealer asked what range the buyer went to. He told the buyer 'you tell me what range you went to and I will repair the rifle'. The buyer got flusstered and left the shop. The dealer openly wondered if he had prevented a mass slaying and if what he prevented had been a good thing.

Detroit was a war zone then. From what I read it is worse now. I have a professional friend (health care) in Detroit and have wondered how she is doing. I really should call.

The ARs of all descriptions are sailing out the doors, hopefully to Patriots. God Bless us All and dang it, get those ARs delivered!
