First trip to the range today with my new to me 357 Max Contender. Well, the XLT scope has a bit of a problem holding zero so it is going back to the factory repair center. I took my Nikon scope with me just in case there was a problem with an unknown used scope. Got it dialed in to 1 1/2" groups at 50 yds, but was getting dark before I could test very many different loads or try 100 yds.
At least I will be able to finish the late deer season with it.
Will have to say I like the early model Contender better than the G2, which I previously owned.
One always has to wonder when buying a used scope, did that person sell it knowing it was not functioning properly ? I guess you just take your chances. It was not bought from a GBO member in case you were wondering.
The package price was right and hopefully the scope will be repaired for the $10.00 cost of shipping.
Much prefer the 2-6X XLT over the Nikon 2X but will have to do for now.
