Cheaper than Dirt has started it again! Please people stop buying!

I have sworn off Cheaper than Dirt a long time ago during the first election of our current president.  They were peddling their ammo at twice the price of other retailers. I quickly removed myself from their mailing list and told them what I thought of their practices.  Now, they have started it again I wanted all to know what this company is doing.  Just an example:  Their Tapco magazines for the SKS are now double what others are selling them for. I know supply and demand, but I don't have any idea why anyone would buy from this organization.  I know high capacity magazines are getting a little hard to find as people are buying them.  I just wish people would help put a stop to this and refuse to buy when this organization continues to rip the customer a new one.  When you continue to buy from people like this, the trend of price gouging continues.We all need to have long memories of how they treated customers the first time there was a buying panic.  I haven't even mentioned their shipping charges, but that is another story.

Took a look at their webb site last night.  Case of 1000 American Eagle .223 - $899.00.  Same ammo was something like $350.00 last Thursday.  Most other retailers have kept their ammo at normal prices, and sold out.  They have not priced gouged like CTD, who cares only to make the maximum profit on the terrible turn of events in Newtown last week.
 
All things tend to go in cycles, and gun owners should remember who did and didn't try to take advantage when the chips were down.  I understand business is about profit, but if you are a true supporter of gun rights, sometimes you have to take a stand and do the right thing....

A local retailer is $189.00 per 500 on .223, and has not raised prices.  He just limits to 1000 per customer until it's gone.

Well I won't have to change my buying habits because I've never found CTD prices to be the best around, especially once you add shipping. They keep sending their catalog and I do thumb through it but I never find any super deals so I never buy.

I have no sympathy for anyone who waited until now to "stock up" no matter who they are buying from.  On the subject of CTD, during the last fiasco they tried to buy from a buddy of mine that was an ammo wholesaler and he refused to sell to them because of their business practices.  Unlike a lot of folks, I remember how things went in the past and who dealt honestly and they are all I deal with.

30 rd AR 15 mags are going for $100.00 now and climbing. Stamped metal, a spring and some plastic
for that price ? I know people with money it took us forever to get them to go out and buy an AR.
One did it two weeks before this happened, but wouldn't get off his rear and go buy extra mags for
It. Now he is crying that he only has one mag, and bugging the rest of us to give him some extra
mags because it is our fault he doesn't have any now. It was all our fault for convincing him to buy
the rifle , now its our fault he has no mags.

Others expect us now to sell them one of our ARs at lower than the price we paid for it. A pristine
BM for only $400.00, yea right ! And toss in a bunch of mags just for good measure .
Guys, check the locks on your homes and gun safes. What we are not hearing about is semi auto
burglarys are also going through the roof. If they know you have it, they will try to come after it.
Maybie it in their nature, but as we are telling them the days of being a tight wad when it comes to
this have come and gone. And we told them this was coming and they would just laugh it off.
At a time you could buy new mags for fifteen dollars each all day long, its hard to show any sympathy
to these people anymore . Then you have the ones who used to say they had 100 rds stashed away
for any rainy day, that is now a whole different group expecting free help from those of us who
prepared .

Try to keep your favorite lead spray dispenser handy at all times to keep the bad guys at bay


Maybe congress can pass a bill banning the theft of all semi autos.

Guy at work has several AR's.  He offered to sell one to anyone who wanted one for $2500.  He paid probably $700 for them.

I think I have enough for what I need anyway.  I just can't stand it when CTD does this while others do the right thing. I don't know of any other company that put the screws to their customers like CTD.  It's like trying to sell $4.00 bottled water during Katrina.  It's the principle of the whole thing.  I have nothing against making an honest dollar, but screwing the hands that feed you when the chips are in your favor is another thing.  If people would just calm down and not buy from these people, they would stop these practices.  It's just not good for our hobby and people need to remember businesses who do the right thing and ones that try to screw you when the chips are down.
