Oh Ranger you sure know how to charm a girl. I think a nice white wine would be very appropriate
for such a prestigious event don't you ? And of course we would need a live band that knows how
to play a waltz. Maybie the band members could dress up like Mayan priest !
It would be such a righteous bash, and we could all do a countdown like on New Year's Eve !
I think your rifle will work in conditions like that , i remember the Astronauts shooting a gun while
they were on the moon to see if it would work or not.

Well as we are being blown into bits of of inert matter. We can always sing goodbye and thanks for
all the fish, as Mel Brooks would put it. Or we'll meet again like in Dr. Strange love .
Because there is no way that a dead civilization who was known for painting thier bu++s blue.
Then dancing nude around a fire throwing leaves into the air chanting to evil gods could ever be wrong. They had to be some purtty smart fellers in order to never discover the wheel or ever use
metal as anything but decoration. So I would give them the benifit of the doubt as so many other
people are doing all over the world. And by the way about thier star charts, if they were so accurate
then why did it take the rest of us up untill the 15th century to discover anything that really worked ?

Because they were tabloid like garbage that's why ! Rife with porn and superstition filled with all
kinds of ways on how to cook and eat each other. The ancient aliens if there were any, probably
came there for lunch. A future civilization once we were gone could look at a lot about what we
have done or written about in our time and say it was because we were visited by aliens.
I mean there is no way a people so stupid as to destroy themselves like we are doing now.
Could have ever came up with the technology that we have today all by themselves. And if they
didn't know, a lot of our Si Fi could be interpreted as actual events. Because we had never discovered
something that to them would be as simple as the wheel . We are dead, who is going to tell them
any different ? One day we all just vanished ?

Ranger that was my pick also , sorta sentimental. Well I am totally depressed, I got all dressed up
with no where to go ! Had to cancel the doomsday catering service and now they will send me a bill
that I will be around to have to pay    And what about those liein mayans ? 
I want my money back ! Unlike Y2K this was supposed to be the real deal, and it turned out to be
just another Internet scam. I guess I will have to take back all that special order blue bu++ paint
and see about a refund. And if I can't maybe I can sell it on Ebay and the Aztecs will buy it !

I've seen this before in relation to this web site GBO.Even before I joined i saw where certain journalist would write articles about things previously discussed by members on this board. Look at his little catch phrases about still standing and it being a party atmosphere of what to wear and do right before the end. Its ok if he is though, in fact it would be flattering if he were. But that would go to show what I've been saying about people are watching.

So after surviving aliens, bigfoot, lock ness, ghost, demons, mayan calendars,Y2K, and Elvis
impersonators. We here have done a pretty good job of fending off all the catastrophes the rest of the world was shaking in their boots over. They should make a movie about us, the GBO league !!! Where our super powers of attitude and the written word make all our foes scatter in the face of our brave perception. If our conservatives don't get you, our liberals soon will. If I could find a smiley thumbing its nose at this I would use it, because I can't find a single post here where our people bought into this newest garbage. If there was our mods quickly placed it in the column where it needed to go.

Mods thanks for letting us have fun with this, still standing should become our overall motto. Now it looks like others are copying that phrase from us. GB should copyright some of this stuff and make bumper stickers out of it and sell it. Just sayin, and to all here your intentions were good. As you know Anna, there are a lot of good thoughts and ideas running around out here. Possibly even some aspiring writers and journalists (if one could call journalism a respectable trade these days).
My advice to anyone who wants to get the message out to a much wider audience and not be misquoted or plagiarized, is to type them out and save them on a word document and get them notarized as your own before you post your responses and essays on these boards.


Many here have some good sensible things to say that are worth publishing. Think about it.

 I've seen it. Liked it much more than the "Arnold" version. Looking back, I never realized just how cheesy the 80s really were. Guess that happens when you're emersed in it.

It isn't about any of us being an aspiring writer. It's about this isn't the first time I've seen a journalist
write an article after the fact. And all but quoting something a member had said here before hand. 
I see that as flattery and nothing more, no one here is on this site to make a buck off of what they
post here. Or everyone here would be filthy rich !

Yea it was far better than the Arnold version of that story. Two leading female stars and special effects
that were absolutely awesome. The synthetics were my favorite, it was not some actors in robo
costumes or freeze frame photography like in the original terminator.
