new Lyman Sharps
« on: December 23, 2012, 05:08:00 AM »
Have you seen that gun?  I picked one up in a local gun store an immediately fell in love.  It's about 2/3 the size of a full size Sharps.  Works exactly the same.  Lyman peep front and hooded front globe.  Beautiful lines and silver mounted.  The downside is the price.  $999.  It comes in 38-55 and .22 Hornet.  The one I saw was 38-55.  I'd rather have the Hornet, so I'm gonna hold out 'til I see one of those.
I think it would be a pleasure to carry.  6lbs and very well balanced.  Blued octagonal barrel.  Google Lyman Sharps if you haven't seen one.

Most of the things you see from folks that have got ahold of those, the reports aren't exactly glowing....

In the 1920's "sheeple" was a term coined by the National Socialist Party in Germany to describe people that would not vote for Hitler. In the 1930's they held Hitler as the only one that would bring pride back to Germany and bring the budget and economy back.....

uh oh.  Thanks for the heads up.  $999 is a lot of money to spend on a gun that isn't what it's supposed to be.

i bought a charles daley little sharps on close out in 44-40(same rifle as lyman). problems, apiture hole to tight for me,drilled bigger,. shot to far right with any load even with front sight moved to max., took peep sight out of base and ground left side and added a small washer on right side moveing whole sight to the left. cases slide beyond extractor if loaded in a hurry, take your time loading. the good, very light. shoots very good with 10grs unique 200gr cast bullet .426. i have killed a turkey and two deer with it and a ton of paper targets. one photo is with malcomb scope(junk), another photo with unertl scope on it and its a ex scope. i paid 599.00 for it several years ago. eastbank.
