12 ga 3" 2 oz loads with Blue Dot

I want to make this recipe with 7-1/2 or 8 lead shot:

Recipe says SP12 wads. This says SP12 wads hold 1-1/4 oz:

is this the wad Alliant is referring to, or is there a different SP12 wad that holds 2 oz.?

Would these hulls be equivalent to the hulls referenced in the recipe?

I'm comfortable with rifle loading. Is shotshell loading that much more complicated?
Suppose I need someone to suggest a good manual; one with more science than recipes.

The hulls are not the same.
 
The deal with shotshell loading is there is no "working up" of the load, you have to stick with the component's listed and the shot/powder charge each cannot vary more than 5% of the listed load.
Pressure changes happen rapidly with shot shell.
You can't change the Primer, you can't change the hull, you can't change the wad, shot charge or the powder charge, no mix matching things,,,
 
The Lyman Shot Shell loading manual is  golden. It lists 1000's of loads and in true Lyman fashion they stick to the basic procedures and don't try to sell ya something.
 
You can use previuosly fire hulls, and most loading shops have used hulls for sale, I stated out buying Winchester AA hull for $8.99 a hundred, but hit the clubs clay shooting range and picked up a few hundered more just for picking through the scrap bin.
 
Did you just pick-up shot shell loading tools?

Santa brought me a Lee Load-All. Already have a scale from rifle loading.
The Lee instructions say:
primer brand doesn't matter.
wads are basically either long or short.
hulls are hulls.
Then they give you some recipes, but if its like their rifle data, its "lawyer"-ed down charges.

All I intend to use it for is to make some 3" heavy-heavy dove loads for when I am stalking doves, and to make some extra light 20's for my wife. I will still but commercial ammo when its an important hunt.
No hurry, won't start playing with it til after deer season.
Looking at load data online and at component suppliers, looks like its hard to buy components that match the recipe.
I'll get the Lyman book.

It appears that Winchester only sells loaded ammunition, so any Win hulls would have to be pick-ups. Is that correct?

Tried looking around a bunch myself, got a bunch of conflicting info.
Getting the book simplified everything. Alot,,

Midsouth has the lyman shotshell book and it is definitely worth the money.  I haven't loaded shotshells for decades but will be doing so soon in the future.
