Got it, 41cal barrel blankBlank
« on: December 25, 2012, 04:52:51 AM »
Been looking for over a year. Was looking on Green mtn barrels, only one they had was a 15"  pistol barrel, too expensive and too short. Could have been fixed but SS and hard to work. Decided to Google, and there it was. Gunbrokers listed by Numritch. Auction started at 39.95. I won it at 52.00. Christmass eve. 26" 1" round 41 cal. I have the stub on hand, 12g barrel with a pitted chamber, sticks shells. A 30-30 ejector is an exact fit. All parts on hand or on requisition. 77.00 in it so far, the biggest single expense will be renting the reamer. I will now have my three matched pairs. Handgun and Handy, 45LC, 45ACP, and 41MAG. Have to wait untill spring as lathe and milling machine in garage at deer camp, 10 degrees yesterday and 10" of snow.

Nice! Nothing gets up the interest like a new project caliber. I am a tad OCD so I appreciate the symmetry of your set-ups... a .41 Mag Handi is a really nice middle road between the .357 and .44... good luck with the project... post pics.

Man would I like to find a cheap barrel with a .410 or .411 bore. I built a .410 slug gun on a Mosiln action, but will have another grandaughter ready to start hunting deer next fall and could us another 410. That barrel would make a great .410 slug gun for deer, and if you load your own you can make loads that are really deer loads. I`m loading down alittle now and still pushing a 240 gr bullets at 1,295 fps. I jelous.
