Should be ok.  You can pick up a Simmons or Burris 22 scope fairly cheap if you don't like the one you have.  I have a 4x Simmons 22 scope that has been great.

I like the smaller belled scopes for mine, and given the distance limitation of the cartridge big magnification isnt necessary, though my old Weaver B-6 (3/4" tube 6x) is dandy. Ive got a few old Weaver D models too with the 7/8 tube (hard to find rings and bases for the 3/4 and 7/8 anymore) and these proportion out nicely on H&Rs.
So, for the real world today, a 1" tubed, max 32mm bell or even lower powered straight (tube dia.) objective looks and works good.

I agree, throw it on and start shooting until you can get a proper scope.

I will only use a Rim-fire scope OR a adjustable parallax scope for mine. I reciently bought 5 (YES FIVE!) Simmons, side focus, Pro Hunter scopes for some of my rimfires... I did so because they SO MUCH impressed me AND the cost was a excellent deal.

The first two on this list are what I bought. They are still on same and offer a AWESOME scope for this $$
