National Gun Buyback Program Being Pushed 12/26/12
Los Angeles will have a buyback program today. Via CBSLocal:

The city of L.A.’s annual gun buyback event will take place Wednesday in Downtown L.A. and Van Nuys, moved up several months in response to the school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
LAPD officials will be on hand at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and Van Nuys Masonic Temple from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to take back the firearms.
And talks of a
national buyback program is underway. From Washington Examiner:

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said that she and other gun control advocates are considering a law that would create a program to purchase weapons from gun owners, a proposal that could be compulsory.
“We are also looking at a buy-back program,” Feinstein
said today in a press conference. “Now, again, this is a work in progress so these are ideas in the development.”

Constitutionally the government cannot confiscate legally owned private property without fair compensation. Does Ms. Feinstein have any idea what it would cost to compensate the owners of  all those weapons she likes to describe as "assault weapons"?
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.

Feinstein is an air head, when they tried this in Australia all they ended up with was junk and wall
hangars.  Why don't we do a libtard buy back program ? We could sell them all to Somalia !

Sell the politicians!  Don't think we would get any takers.  I bet we could take up a collection and shipped them all out free to who ever would take them ;)

Feinstein is pushing for even worse than this. If you think its bad now, just wait and see what it becomes if this crap is passed into law.

They had on here some years ago.  People lined up to sell their guns.  It was attempt to get the Saturday Night Specials off the street.  They were paying the same money no matter what the gun was.  Dealers and non-dealeres stood outside the building buying up guns for just over what the gov't was paying.  So, in that sense, the guns simply traded hands and went back to the street.
Even if they had all been sold inside, no dent would have been made in the crime rate.  What a stupid plan.

I have a saturday night special that I ordered a new firing pin for from Bobs gun shop.
it's been shooting good since 65, but the firing pin is getting peened lately.

The LA buy back program is $100/gun and $200 if it is an assult type weapon - a fraction of their real value, unless the are junk to start with. The federal Government will do the same thing, a few bucks for a gun worth several hundred dollars. Even more if there is going to be a ban, they could be worth thousands. To top it off, the ones that would sell them back are "honest" citizens, not the ones that really need to be getting off the streets.

Really?

I can't understand why the obama supporters HERE aren't jumping in defending hussein and his drones for doing exactly what we said they'd do?? They too are probably laughing at their success. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

Bills like this are how Feinstein relates to her constitutency.  Doesn't say much for Kalifornia, now does it?

We are quickly approaching the time when we will have to decide if we will be governed according to the documents drafted by our Founding Fathers, or by our Congress of Baboons and Supremely Stupid Court.  Most of us know where we stand, but the "fence sitters" will find their perch uncomfortable.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!

The long forgotten heroes of Valley Forge and Bunker Hill must be rolling over in their graves at this travesty to freedom. Where is Ben Franklin, George Washington, John Hanncock and the rest when you need them? Certainly neither Reid nor Boheiner could fill their shoes. Again the honest lawabiding citizen will lose.
Those without backbone will submit.  None of my guns are forsale. Ever!

http://www.wdrb.com/story/20441082/new-albany-gun-buyback-program-runs-out-of-money-in-90-minutes#.UN4znDgfvw0.email

There was a buyback program setup in my parent's hometown. The city ran out of money in 90 minutes. Dad said the guns he saw going in were much cheaper than what they were paying for them. One guy from his work bragged that he sold 8 guns and was able to be an AR-15 with the proceeds. Also, of special note, in the days leading up to the sale, local pawnshops experienced record sales of "junk" and inexpensive guns. ::)

Thanks, Dinny
