NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A New Haven attorney is asking permission to sue the state for $100 million on behalf of a student who survived the mass shooting at a Newtown school.
The Hartford Courant reports (http://cour.at/Tvo5v9) that attorney Irving Pinsky filed notice Thursday with Claims Commissioner J. Paul Vance Jr. The state has immunity against most lawsuits unless permission to sue is granted.

If anyone deserves to get sued it's Klinton, Gingrich, Santorum and the rest of the criminals that voted for the "Gun Free School Zones Act" back in 1996.

Definitely a frivolous suit. The attorney should be disbarred for it also.

Lawyers make their living fusing fiction with vague facts. Why should this one be any different? And I never doubted someone with a willing lawyer (not that hard to find) would try and make money on the slaughter?

I myself hope the families of the victims sue the state and bankrupt the Department of Education. The school was chraged with providing for the safety of those children, they failed and they failed miserably and they should be held liable.  We all know that schools are never going to protect children by doing the obvious-that is by letting properly trained personel carry firearms if they wish to do so. The only language they understand is filthy money so hit them in the pocket book and hit 'em hard.

lakota, while I here where your coming from, I personally believe that the public school system is actually charged with EDUCATING kids, and the parents are charged with making their environment safe. All the public officials you mentioned here are for the most part, ELECTED by the parents and others. Poop rolls down hill, and everyone gets a little on them if you know what I mean.
It is a well know fact that schools are UNPROTECTED, that there are predators out there, and parents push them out the door anyway. Many parents in that part of the world don't own a gun, and don't want to own a gun.

I think we could just limit the legal fees on the damages to 5% instead of the 40 to 70% they are taking now you will have a lot fewer lawyers sueing
