I believe the first 'rebellion' or 'resistance movement' will begin in new york against commisar kwomo's safe gun act. BTW, there is already a very significant legislative movement demanding amendments to that law which would make it far less onerous for the gun owner and hopefully much more difficult for the mentally ill to access firearms, but let's say the 'rebellion' starts here with mass rallies.
This doesn't mean that obama can call out his brownshirts or have his drones rain death on us if the people say 'no' to more gun control. States have soverignty, which means that if commisar kwomo faces some form of armed resistance to his confiscation program the hobama man cannot simply send in the 101st hairborne to quell the riots. The state has to use its (instate) National Guardia first and if that doesn't work then the governator can call for help but that usually pits the state forces (guardia) against the federal forces. and the feds have to operate under the control of the state, they do not have a free hand to call in tanks or drones or anything like that.
For example: let's say the 10,000 predicted attendees at the planned 2/28 anti-gun law rally in albany, ny get a bit out of hand and whup the snot out of a bunch of cops, overturn and burn some cop cars and a few buildings, throw rocks and the like, beat up some politicians, etc., then get back on their buses and go home believing they have left a strong message - which such actions definately would. hobama can't send the airborne to the goverors office to say we are here to help you maintain law and order, as that is the state's requirement. Hell, kwomo couldn't even send national guardia to nyc during superstorm sandy because bloomy didn't want armed soldiers on his streets so do you really think he is going to be able to open the door to federal troops in his cities to maintain order - nope, that would be the responsibility of the state's highest ranking military officer and he/she had damned well better take command of the state government and provide some assistance to the localities if it is still needed by then (egypt is a very good example, but it would be on a local basis). If the governor fails to act to restore order it is incumbent upon the state's military to restore order and the state goes into martial law. This does not grant free access to federal troops.
And I believe I can guarantee ya that if 10,000 anti- gun ban attendees decide to get out of hand the governor will most likely abandon albany and flee to nyc where he would feel safe and not return until it was all quiet on the northern front. Of course, such would be political suicide for one of the nations leading communists, which might be a boon to those of us in upstate who would like to see the state divest itself on nyc and either create another district or a new category of city-states based on population densities.
