It's not about hunting
« on: December 31, 2012, 05:31:26 PM »
We all know that the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting. We also hear politicians like Obama, Feinstein and Romney saying that so called "assault weapons" like the AR-15 have no sporting purpose, they're only made to kill people, blah blah blah.

If you hear any hoplophobes parroting this misinformation be sure to remind them that the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting and oh, by the way, the AR-15 was originally marketed as a hunting rifle before the US military ever adopted it.  ;D

Really, what do you hunt with a .223?  Unless you call varmint shooting--hunting.  My state requires a minimum of .243 cal. for hunting, but maybe it's different in some places.  By the way, this comment in no way means I'm against so-called assault weapons.  I like em.

My state of NH has a minimum requirement of .22 caliber centerfire so a .223 is legal for deer, coyotes, etc. An AR-15 is perfectly legal in my state as long as you hunt with a maximum 5 round magazine. My friend's father's deer rifle is a DPMS AR-15. I know there are other states that allow .223 for deer also. Next door in Maine a .22 Magnum is legal for deer although I've never met anyone that's tried it.

Several years ago I killed a nice buck with my mini 14. Wish I still had it. I wonder how many of our DEFENSE rifles have been used to prevent crimes or save lives"" There are millions of these guns in the hands of law abiding citizens that have never hurt anybody. Push the defense rifle when talking about these guns. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

All here know that the 2nd is not about hunting, but go elsewhere. Its surprising the number of people that don't know the purpose of the 2nd. What people are most clueless about is they believe that government is trying to save us, and our kids at school from bad guys with AR-15's by outlawing certain firearms. When really government could care less about our safety. They know armed people are a threat to their goal of total control over those people.
Remember when Janet Reno and her thugs used armored vehicles against Branch Davidians in Waco. Then people were killed at Ruby Ridge for being white separatists. Both accounts are called tyranny, and its why we need to be armed. Many are shocked that some of us think that government would kill citizens to further their agenda. Just wait until we are disarmed and see what happens.
Nobody owns an assault rifle. That is just a term to scare the clueless people into agreeing with the erosion of the Constitution. Obama, and others continue to divide and conquer this nation by using class envy. Obama promised the have nots, the wealth of the haves, knowing he can influence popular opinions, and votes that way.
Half the people in this nation does not care about trading liberty for security. They become enablers to destroy the Constitution by being ignorant. Ignorance is and will be the downfall of this nation and our Constitution. We have let government run and control what we like to think of as education for our children, for many years now. Then we wonder where the nation of ignorant people have come from.
Just look at the last election. We returned to office over 92% of incumbents, along with a president that added 6 trillion to our debt in four years. As an electorate we are a nation of idiots. We deserve the government that we put in place. Unless there is a great awaking our liberty will continue to be eroded, under the disguise of government protecting us, and saving us from bad guys with semi-auto firearms.
Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.    Wm. Penn
