Anyone use AA2460?
« on: January 01, 2013, 05:58:24 AM »

I was looking through my manuals and it appears that 2460 is a good powder in both the 6TCU and 7x30. Anyone use this powder in these chamberings?

I am just starting to load for these and thought I may need to give some a try. I have H4895 but haven't had a chance to shoot any loads yet.

I have a 6x 45 or 6/223 which is almost the same as a 6 TCU but 2460 didn't work for me. The gun is capable of the one hole groups but accuracy just wasn't there versus other powders. I've used it with great success in a 223 with 62gr bullets though out of a 1"7" twist HBAR. The powder I use in the 6x 45 is H4895. I get the highest velocity and best accuracy from it. But if you already have it, I'd certainly try it. May work exceptionally good in yours. The bullet weights I shoot in the 6x 45 are 70gr TNT, 80gr Remington HP, and Speer 90Gr sp.

I use it but can't say I ever used it in any of my 6 TCU or 7-30 barrels.

H335 proved best in my 6 TCU barrels both handgun and rifle length and AA2520 was my all time favorite for the 7-30.

I mostly use AA2460 in the .223.
