Try Academy if you have one.....they have a load here.

They were out yesterday.  Had one wooden box of Winchester that was double priced because of the "collectible" box, and some CB shorts.  They will be back in stock in a while..I'll have to break out my hole stash.

I called a wm today to save gas and they had NO 22 ammo at all and said the warehouse was out too. Another WM S of Ft Knox had ZERO rifle or pistol ammo and very few shotshells. Another had nothing but 1 bx of 45 acp for $45. I went to an independant gun shop today, no 22s and said he can't get them. The WM So of Ft Knox had one shotgun and 1 rifle left. The buying frenzy is getting ridiculous.
A guy told me today that sks are going for $400 - $500 now. I saw a universal 30 cal carbine priced at $450. All I wanted was some plinking ammo, the only thing I've seen was some stingers and they cost too much to play with. This is getting ridiculous. Hussein has sold more guns and ammo than all the presidents in history. FRom what I've heard even the over priced gun shops are selling out of ammo pretty fast, including bass pro shops. A guy told me today that the shelves of ammo were bare at the 1 accross the river in IND.  Theres a shop about 30 miles N of here I'll try next week. I WANT TO SHOOT, but don't want to if I can't replace the ammo. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

I have had someone put in "a" birthdate for pistol ammo, not mine.  The local one here in Aurora dropped guns a long time ago, but still stock ammo pretty well.  I have asked and they don't know what is coming until it shows up.  Right now .308 is slim, 9 is gone, 45 gone, .357 is only 125's.  Seemed to have .38, lots of 30-06,.  It is odd, this store has things like .222, 22.250, 7RUM, and thing like that show up on the shelves.   I wish the local gun stores (few) came any where near WM prices on most ammo.

When it comes down to it, .22's are trading stock, and when you come right down to it, are darn useful for a lot of things. I figure aspirin, and storable food will become dear; the first things looted will be all the beer, TV's you can't power or get reception on.
just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not watching you

As of last week our walmart requires no id for ammo. Bought shotgun shells and the last box of 22lr. Cashier treated it like groceries  ;)

I think ya all just look scary or something ;D

I was asked about 3 months ago for my CCW permit when I wanted to buy some .44 mags.
I'd have asked for the manager next, and if that didn't get me any farther I'd have contacted corporate because I know it is not Walmart policy.

Anyone wanting to copy or write down you DL information you need to remind them that is considered personal identity information (PII) and there are state regulations on how it is stored.

Google it for your state print it out and take it with it the next time anyone ask for your DL number.

As far as the 22lr need to sign up for CMP. I think I paid $69 for the last 5,000 rounds.  :)

357 SUPERMAG. Bought any lately?? I've been trying for 2 months to find any bulk pks at 4 different walmarts. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

I bought a 100 pack of 12-ga. shells around the first of December and also picked up a bulk pack of .22LR at the same time.

That was at the WalMart in York,Pa. There was plenty of each at that time.
I wouldn't have bought them at that time, but I had somehow run low on chemical handwarmers and stopped in to pick some up(they are pretty cheap at WalMart). Anyway, I was there and the sporting goods counter was right there and it just made sense to buy some of each. I didn't really need them, but better to have and not need , than to need and not have.

Maybe I'll stop by there tomorrow on the way home from work and see if they have any in stock.
I need to drive pretty close by, so it isn't like it is out of my way.

If you sign up to the mailing list on CMP they will send you updates when they get surplus in.
Last week they had LC 30 carbine 1200 rounds for $500 made in the 70's. LC 30 carbine has not been available in a long time. I am sure they are sold out by now.

I wasn't really doing anything late Sunday morning so i went to the one local gun shop that is open on Sunday.

Their supply of primers was pretty spotty. Some of this, some of that...not a whole lot of anything.
Pretty much the same story on powder.
Bullets(jacketed) were in good supply, depending on the manufacturer and caliber. handgun bullets were spotty, especially Hornady XTPs. They don't sell cast lead bullets at that shop.

There were some of the smaller bulk packs of .22LR (I think they were c.325/box). Price didn't seem to far out of line.

On a lark, I stopped at the local WalMart. Practically no .22LR, a handful of various handgun cartridges, rifle ammunition was spotty. Prices seemed to be at about the level they were since before the Fall hunting seasons began.

Bulk packs of shotgun shells(100/box) were in pretty good supply in 12 and 20ga.

Monday after work, I stopped at another LGS. Primers are practically non-existent...they do not know when they will get more. Powder supply was spotty, but the prices were right where they were before the Fall hunting seasons.

No .223 or 7.62x39mm to be found.

I think it may be time to delve into the savings and add to my reserve supply of handgun powders. I found some of just about everything I use except W296 in one shop or another.

Finding another 5-6000 of the various handgun primers to add to the reserve supply may be a little difficult.

I did not want to do this at this point in time...I really need to get geared up for reloading for my rifles, but it looks like I had best fatten up my reserves.

Pattys boy went to the walmart I mentioned yesterday and saw them scan a guys license for a box of ammo. They asked the guy why he did that and the guy said the same thing he told me, FED regs to see where the ammo is going. My dil bought some shotshells and he asked for her ID, shes 40. She opened her wallet and showed the guy with her thumb over all but her birth date and pic. The guy said he needed her license, she refused. She finally got the shells without being scanned. Something fishy here. Thats the closest WM to Ft Knox. My old WM told me there were no fed regs. Don't know what to believe. POWDERMAN.  ::) ::)

I was at the same , nearest walmart tonight..   In rimfires all they had was a couple  of 50 rounds @.  I might have bought them...but they were green and yellow boxes (and I don't mean John Deere)..that brand is just not my "cup of tea"..

some local shops in central Va. now restrict you to 4 boxes of the ammo they still have . Most 223 and 308 are long gone. Same with primers not a lot to choose from.

How long do you guys think this shortage is going to last?  Gander Mountain yesterday had some 8mm Mauser in Remington Core Lokt, but it was $39 for 20.  Same type in 30-06 was $19.  I have plenty of 30-06, but not much Mauser.  Reloading supplies are very hard to come by.  Also, what is it with 22LR?  Plenty of 17hmr and 22mag.

I guess everyone is afraid of being limited on ammo sales.  Liberals never address the real problem.  75% of ALL murders are in 4 cities, New York, Chicago, Washington DC and Los Angeles.  Bet at least 20% of the rest are in other large cities.  Red counties and red states have less crime.  Wonder why?

Hope this ammo shortage lifts up some.  Hope there are other pressing issues to side track the feds for awhile.

I know some here have a beef with the NRA.  But I recommend joining them and the GOA and other groups for more legal help in Washington.  Numbers do count.  Write handwritten letters to congressmen, senators, on up.  Handwritten letters have more weight than calls and emails.
