Should I mark up and sell my assault rifle?
« on: January 02, 2013, 05:31:30 PM »
I just realized after reading the AWB proposed that if it goes through I will be the proud owner of a .50 assault weapon.  Should I take advantage of the rush?

My ML has a thumbhole stock...

I took advantage of the panic and sold a Kel Tech SU16. But I hated that rifle. The reciever was out of alignment with the barrel, and I think it was less accurate than a 45 auto. I didn't make any money but I didn't loose much either. AND I have a clear conscience, I told the buyer why I wanted to get rid of it and he was still eager to buy. I had several calls after I sold it to the first caller.

I would say that if you have anything you aren't happy with NOW IS THE TIME. As far as getting rid of guns because the government says they are going to ban them what are you going to do with it?  I would hope that a law like Illinois is proposing would be clearly unconstitutional. But, the supreme court is only one vote away from burning the Constitution.

If you bought your "assault rifle" during one of the last "assault weapons bans" and paid way too much for it...yes, now would be a good time to get back some of that money and buy lots of other stuff with it. Or like bilmac says, if your not happy with something, yes now is a real good time to cash in. I would not worry about what the government bans...last ban did not outlaw anything we already had, or keep us from selling them or using them, and even if the next one does none of us have any of those.  :-X Obama just put thousands of AR's in the public by talking about it, big sales still going strong, there are going to be a lot of assault weapons to choose from. There will be more AR's than Winchester 94's in the private sector.
If my state were talking about this...I would not give anything up I did not want to....I also hope someone sees this as unconstitutional besides us.

For those that aren't aware, a thumbhole stock in the new AWB bill is considered a feature to make it an assault weapon.  They say the thumbhole stock is nothing but a way around a pistol grip.

That muzzleloader pictured fits the definition of an assault weapon (without the exclusion for manual loading).

Thumbhole stock
Must be an assault weapon :-)

I have a assault rifle .22 mag. single shot with a thumbhole stock, I've been wondering if that's goin' to be allowed. I guess we could just swap out the stocks to make them less likely to strike terror into the hearts of liberal gun grabbers.

The Supreme Court is a vote away from BEING the Constitution.
And they could be the reason for civil war.  our communist-in-chief will probably appoint two judges, and the constitution will be null and void.

There is one gun that I am very disgusted with and we ought to get rid of it.  That would be the son of a GUN thathas no respect for the Constitution, has no working relationship with the truth and is arrogant to a degree unknown in our country's history.  This thing can sometimes be found in the White House--when it's not on a golf course, or in Hawaii.  There is absolutely no chance to recoup any value for it though, because it is worthless.

They can pass all the laws they want.  From this point forward I will obey the constitution and the Bible.  Let the chips fall where they may.

Its a joke poking at the bill and the run on guns.  It's a muzzleloader.
