Has anyone bothered to tell that stupid a-ho that the kid used pistols, not assault rifles.

Is everyone in this damn state going to swallow this crap without so much as one letter to the governor. What the hell is wrong with the people in this state.

If i wasn't old and a cripple and 2 of my kids live within 15 miles of me i would have left the lousy state of NY a couple years go. Looks like we are in for an up hill battle.

Look at # 2 ... If you or I have more than 10 firearms in 2014...you automatically become a felon.

...And how would they know how many guns you own...GUN REGISTRATION OF COURSE! And you can just bet there will be annual fees with the registration..a state already broke, can't afford to finance such a program.

This is only so if it passes, and is enforced, both of which are doubtful. These politicians need to know that if they push for something like this they are liable to wake up one morning with a price on their heads.........

I will be the first to say this will be less than likely to pass as is. However, it is a place to start negotiating. Any bill that passes will be a major infringement on our rights. Sit idle and do nothing or stand up for gun rights. The choice is up to you. Myself I wrote letters, made calls and talked to my state senator who is also a friend.

Oh sure, it's a political price, of course. Shame on me for not specifying the obvious but let's see, a political price includes a loss of a good paying job and all the benefits that come from it, and if any criminal activity or subterfuge is involved the price would also include the sanity and sanctity of the family and home. This is not a 'win-win' proposition for them, it is a all or nothing winner take all or disappear proposition and this is what those politicains are afraid of, a real showdown.

I have e-mailed the White House as well as State Senator Hugh Farley, who I have personally supported in the past and who has benefitted from the support of hunters and gun owners during his career, and I have reminded him of this; let's see what happens now.

As for the brownshirts, or someone else wearing black duty uniforms, won't matter the color of the target. They will have to go door to door; they simply do not have the manpower for that, even with the local guard in reserve and they deeply fear armed resistance. They hope for the appearance of the order of law, whether legal or not, or without willing to follow it themselves. They will count on buy-backs and confiscation, and the concern that being caught with something you have owned for years but never abused the way they think you would could land you in jail. They do not count on forceful resistance, rather they hope it does not happen as it will simply take their world so far beyond their control that they will find themselves in the same kettle of fish they put the citizenry into. Would that saying about something fishy in Denmark then apply?

? And, of course, what would it do for Mr. Cuomo's presidential ambitions if his state becomes a hot-bed of insurgency and a battleground that he cannot control...... I think he has some serious thinkin' to get to......

It is bad enough that the tragedy in Conn happened, which was then made worse by copycat events and this gives commies and socialistas the edge they need to propose such draconian restrictions. But when you put a political future on the line, things change.....and I don't think Mr. Cuomo is willing to jeopardize his political future for the insanity of out of control politicians.....

Danny: Utah is one example, so are a goodly number of the western states rather laid back on the gun control issue. As for cuomo's presidential aspirations - I think he would hope to piggy-back on hobama's party base of city dwellers and the east coast for a fairly free ride into the oval office but I seriously doubt there will be anothe democrat in the white house for some time. hosama's economy is gonna tank and it's going to hit those single issue voters who put him back in office, first. They won't make the same mistake twice, unless they are stupid, which they might be but were I the cuomo I would not depend on our nations love for that half american idiot to land my butt in dc..... I do not believe his draconian gun control concepts will survive the state senate and I do not believe he will have any sort of a free ride to dc. In fact, the dems might not get the hispanic vote if the hobama hombre can't relax the immigration laws enough to let them all in, or his economy tanks so badly that they stay home hoping for better jobs. And cuomo, for all the liberal mouth he is, may not get all that he wants from his state agendas and platforms. Don't forget that the nyc idiots who propose such stupid laws are the ones he is trying desparately to control, and if you have noticed, he doesn't seem to mind the Independent Democtraptic Coalition too awful much (and really hopes the GOP stays in power in the state senate) because it is a stop gap between the political stupidity of the state house and the amount of loss of support from his own party he would experience if they weren't there and he had to deny all their insane proposals personally. Imagine a democraptic governator without the support of the rabid nyc political crowd - ain't gonna happen...

I sent emails too. The politicians met secretly over the weekend to hammer through a vote today. It is my understanding that magazine capacity will be limited to 7 rounds, large capacity magazines will NOT be grandfathered in, nor existing "assault" weapons.
Weapon registration will be ultimately be followed by confiscation. This will be timed to occur before the total economic collapse occurs.
NRA... too little...too late.... Most citizens are asleep anyway. Too sad..

I never believed Obama would be reelected with the economy in such poor shape, but the last election proved there are more takers than workers, and you can not beat "Santa Claus" aka. the president handing out "stimulus" money just before the election..when we are broke... to win votes.
In my humble opinion, the emphasis is not on the real problem, which is care and control of the mentally disturbed people who are potential threats.
After they get done with the gun issue will they go after kitchen knives, or fuel oil and fertilizer?

Yes, anything that takes more than 7 rounds: your 10/22, your Marlin 60, your Ruger 22 lr target pistol or 22/45, your 7400 30-06 because of a detachable magazine, your 1911 because it can take a large capacity magazine, any 9mm or 7.62x25. Just about anything you have.

And you have one year to register or go to jail as a criminal. They know who you are because your purchases are in the state data base. Any magazines holding more than 7 rounds must be either surrendered, sold out of state or confiscated. Your sks is illegal under this law unless you register the rifle and get a permit for it.

Face it, we're screwed. We either register and become subject to police oversight (anybody remember nazi Germany and fascist Italy), which allows them to smash through our doors and take anything they see whether legal or not, and God forbid you have dogs that cops love to shoot in this state.

OK all you lousy scummy democrats and liberals - try and squirm your way out of this one. This is what you get for what you voted for and now you have dumped it on us and made us the criminal. My hope is that you get it worse than we do, but I doubt you will put up much of a fight becasue this is what you wanted. So how do you feel about what you got, you lousy fascists. Zeig Heil.
