I PROPOSE A SOLUTION

Now boys this is a well thought out solution coming from studying the problem over two pots of coffee.
I propose that instead of the big salaries, retirement system and socialist behavior of Washington--we should impliment goverment hsousing for elected officials. Each unit would be the same size with the same ammentities as all---regardless. A perdeim of $50 per day should suffice and no one allowed a free lunch--much less a trip or car from a lobbiest. transportation to and from the capitol should be on government supplied transportation unit equivelent to buses.
Retirement should be on the order of social security and medicare and pay on the order of the postal department.
After being defeated or retireing, those officials should be barred from DC and any contact with any lobby group.
It should be a felony offence and punishable by prison time. You can't draw SS while in prison.
Got to get another cup.

That I  would like to see. Then they may feel a little more connected to us the middle and lower class.

Excellent solution William, now get it through congress of even before congress. Ron Paul's solutions were far less radical and we know what happened to him.  I propose we nuke Washington DC.

I have all ways thought that there pay and benefits should be set at the average of the people in there district. May be then they would work harder to help the people that voted them in and less about how much they got.
