Bullets for the .357 Herrett

Setting up a 14" Contender in the .357 Herrett for whitetails and maybe hogs.  Would like to hear from other hunters on the bullets you prefer. 
 
Have read some bad reviews on regular pistol bullets for this round.  All responses appreciated.

My favorite for that use is the LBT LFN 200 GC bullet. In my 10" .357 Herrett the average of four five shot groups was 0.8" and only one group exceeded 1.0" and that one was 1.2". Super load. I never changed it until I let the TCs go.

Yup, a nice flat point 180 or 200 grain cast bullet would be my first choice.
 
Are the hornady Single Shot Pistol bullets still being made?
If they are, take a look at the 180 gr SSP for hunting deer & hogs. It works well in the 357 Max, should be the berries in a Herrett.

you might try 35 cal rifle bullets for the 35 remington or 357 Hornady magnum bullets in 180 or 200 gr.

The animal is a Black Wildebeest taken in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.

     My long-time favorite bullet for whitetail in my 10" .357Herrett is the long discontinued 150PSPCL.  I squirreled away enough for a lifetime when I heard they weren't anymore.  It shoots good and has proven deadly on VA deer, but, I would recommend a heavier and tougher bullet for hogs.

Grumulkin that is a very nice animal.  Were you able to recover the bullet and do know about how much your Wildebeest weighed?  If the Hornady 158 XTP can down a Wildebeest it should be able to handle a southern whitetail.
 
Has anyone tried the Hornady 180 grain SP, SS/P bullets.  I got some of these to try and I have the 158 XTP on hand also.

These are two bullets recovered from the Black Wildebeest which probably weighed about 400 lbs.
 
There is no doubt in my mind that they would easily dispatch any Whitetail or Mule Deer you cared to shoot them into.

Your personal experience and "proof in the pudding" with the bullets has dispelled what I have read that the Hornady pistol bullets were not up to par in the Herrett.  Thank you for sharing your actual use in the real world.
 
The Black Wildebeest would be a trophy with a rifle and you did it with a "lil ole pistol"

I believe Bob Milek's favorite bullet in the .357 Her. was the Speer 180 gr. flat point.

have had good luck back when I had one with Sierra 170 JHC AND 200 RN Hornady using H4227 and IMR 4198 was in a 14in barrel
