I compromised myself and threw my vote away by voting for Romney. I still regret wasting my vote on someone whom I despise almost as much as I despise Emperor Obama. I wasted my vote on the status quo rather than casting it for who I would actually want to represent me.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

Romney (like McCain) didn't have a chance "the first time he ran". Hell, he couldn't even get nominated the first time. This last time election the QUALITY IN CANDIDATES WAS SO LOW, that Romney got nominated.
Did you REALLY THINK Romney had a chance to beat Obama? Really?
By the way. You did waste your vote. Romney got his ass handed to him. Just like McCain did. You voted "redundantly", but not for anyone that actually had a chance. Your giving your bad decision too much credit, and the outcome verifies it.

I believe he would have kept his mouth shut as pertains to weapon bans. I also believe had he won there would have at the same time been fewer Dem.s in the House and Senate as well. The Democrats would not be so cock sure of some fantacy mandate either.

So yes, as a matter of fact, I do believe elections have consequences. Yes, all of your protest votes have been counted, and the mandate is clear, you prefered Obama. If you sat out this election, or voted for Obama, I do hope you recognise my contempt for you.

It truly is amazing how someone can draw such an analogy from an ALSO RAN candidate that was FOR gun control "at first", and FOR socialized health care, "at first" and FOR abortion, "at first", and on and on. The election is over, and Obama won because he got more votes, just like he did last election. You can blame anyone you want, but if Romney had not been a different version of McCain, he might have gotten more votes. Romney lost for the same reasons McCain lost. HE WAS RINO. No one liked him, or trusted him, except you and few others. I seriously doubt your contempt for anyone will make two hoots to them. They most likely are just as impressed with you, as you are them. You are sour grapes  :'(  and that is NON-CONSTRUCTIVE.
As far as elections having consequences, I would say: Haven't they always? Running inferior candidates has consequenes also. Romney carried my state (Texas), but not enough people TRUSTED Romney. The Re-flub-licans haven't figured that out in the last two elections. I hope that you recognize the contempt I have for people that continually settle for less, and less, at everyone else's expense. Your why we keep gettin second rate candidates. ::)
My opinion was solicited. My thoughts have not changed from roughly September through today. A choice to not vote is still a choice. If you believe Romney was a bad candidate I have no problem with that. If you believe Obama was a better choice, fine too.  I think you are wrong but you are able to choose as am I. My problem arises when someone chooses to not vote for the lesser of two evils.

If one comes to the conclusion that Obama is terrible and Romney is bad as well, not voting gives you the right to shut up about what Obama says or does, you tacitly supported his election. Somewhere along the line you decided Obama wasn't that bad and you could live with his ideals being foisted on this country.

Romney nor McCain were my first choice as Republican nominees. My opinion was solicited and not chosen,. I was however able to see that the lesser of two evils was a better choice. When you have the choice between vanilla ice cream and chocolate cake, crying about the fact you want bacon will get you nothing. As you sit in your highchair blubbering about not wanting the cake, the ice cream is gone, and there never was any bacon.

The only lesson you have taught the Republican party is that they were not enough like Obama to win an election. Sort of like beating a dog who has not returned promptly enough. The dog gets the message that when he comes he gets beat.

I get the feeling you are ok with the way the election turned out. I'm not really going to get to that point I'm afraid.

From my perspective someone who votes the "lesser of two evils" has no true compass to take a stand and vote their true core.
But hey , that's just how I roll. A person has one vote they should use it how their own morals dictate.

Others mileage may vary.

Like I said as far as I'm concerned you will have given up the right to complain about what is being done by the winner. It is not as though a third party candidate had a snow balls chance in hell. I might be convinced you are sending a message to a major party, might.

In the end you certainly accepted that your vote was a simple protest and you were willing to accept Obama as your President. You have no real reason to complain about his stances on issues, you signed off on him being elected.

well if many of us had not voted for the lesser evil we would not have voted and the result would have been the same . Morals you say great thought but do they exist in politics ?

Well I can tell you a lot of people do not vote straight ticket, I have a feeling a lot of people did not vote for either Obama or Romney and concentrated on congress and local level government. I'm not kidding, a lot of people did this. Take my word for it. I heard the comment earlier that the reason the reps picked Romney was because a conservative could not win so they have to run a moderate...guess what, after two elections you would think they would get smart, a moderate can't win conservative votes, or the liberal conservative votes (yes there are a few left yet)...or the constitutional minded people...in short, you can't pick up conservative votes from anyone but a conservative.
So back to the gun control thing....you have had a congress in place that is as left wing as you can get for some time now not only in spending but in taking your basic rights away in all areas. No matter who the president is, or could have been...it would not matter. And the left does not debate anyway...so what debate? Your going to have people who know nothing about firearms and don't use them, making laws about firearms, while they are surrounded by people who protect them with semi auto high cap weapons....that is really what you have here, and there is only a couple ways I can think of to stop them. My first choice would be to vote them out, the other choice is getting too close for comfort. There are not a lot of choices.

Yes...well said. What is done is done. I should have wasted less space and just said this.
