Well, no contribution to the Handi Success list this year!
« on: January 07, 2013, 10:04:18 AM »
Last weekend was my last opportunity to get down to the farm for any deer hunting this year.   :(  Didn't get to camp until almost midnight... So we slept in next morning... I finally got up around 10 am...

We were getting ready to go to the farm to pull our cameras and do other little housekeeping chores before the evening hunt...  then we found a Clint Eastwood marathon on TV... and a couple a jugs a white likker that was fixin to go bad...

We were still thinking about sneakin into our stands before dark... but we realised we was hungry... so we ordered a couple a slabs a ribs... and started on the beer...  One a my huntin buddies wives drove to get the ribs...

By the time the football game started it was gettin dark...  we hadn't been outa our chairs all day... 'cept to get another jug, or beer, or to visit the potty... we finally hit the cots sometime after midnight...

We didn't make it to the farm the next morning either... didn't see a deer all weekend... huntin been real bad this year...  :-\

Huntin been real poor this year in Northeast Nebr. Was up to the farm 6 days before Christmas and from Christmas to Newyears eve and only saw 6 the whole time. AHD took a toll on them this summer. Up until this year you could shoot them from the front door of the house.

Richard!  I used to feel guilty if I wasn't in the woods from daylight to dark, but then along came Thanksgiving and the football game....    then I realized that hunting is supposed to be FUN.  So if you had fun, your huntin' trip was a success!  You just gotta get the deer to deliver the pizza for you and you'll have it made.  :)  44 Man

Tim , I must correct you on your statement that no one got hurt. NOBODY drinks White Likker all day chased by beer at night without hurting themselves the next day ::)

You know the old saying, "If you want to ruin a good hunt just kill something". It looks as though you sucessfully avoided that.

Congrats on your safe hunt!  You should run a seminar on hunting safety.   :D
