Good news for handgun hunters, but I would love to see it chambered in the Black Hawk platform, even as a five shooter if need be.

I have come to believe no gun is truely discontinued.

Now there may be a period of time where the supply outstrips demand and a gunmaker sees no good reason to warehouse a product. When the time comes that demand outstrips supply and a profit can be made the manufacture resumes.

Witness all of the old Winchesters that have been reintroduced, same goes for Smith & Wesson and them re introducing the old classics. Trust me if Savage could profit enough you would see their lever action on shelves, brand new.

I don't imagine I will be a customer, however I can respect the cartridge and recognise it's potential. Good for those who haven't been able to get their hands on one.

I'd be interested in one of these too. (480 ruger) Plus a redhawk in 357mag and in 41mag too.

Too bad they don't bring it back is Redhawk venue. Does it say will be a true .480 or some other caliber that will shoot the .480 ie: .475 Linebaugh?

Well Larry, maybe we'll get lucky and Accusport or someone will get Ruger to make a special run like they did with the Stainless BBH in 45 colt...then pickup a matching 92', nice combo I'd say..

I'd pony up for a 5 shot BH in .480R.

With Rugers application of todays machinery and manufacturing techniques we should be seeing more  models coming in and out of production as well as some cool special runs.

Are they actually going to manufacture them or just catalog them? I have been looking for an SP101 in .22 ever since they brought it back in that chambering. They are rumored to exist but I havent seen one. I think I would have about an equal chance at finding bogfoot!
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

My distributor  told me today that in 4-6 months, he will have some. I'm on his short list.
