Your prayers would be appreciated for my family
« on: February 14, 2004, 05:54:53 PM »
Hey Guys:

This is difficult to say,but I know the end results will make it better.I would appreciate if  you kept my family in your prayers...my father lost a valient 5 year struggle with cancer this evening and past away.He was a great man and we will surely miss him in this life.He and my Mother were married for 55 years, and for all of my family, a rock of stability thru all of our troubles and problems. I missed being able to say goodbye to him before he left us,so if you don't mind,I'll say it now.  Goodbye Dad..I'll miss you,and love you,and one day see you again, and we will walk those frozen fields together ,waiting for the pheasents, and quail to flush just right for us.....

You have our prayers and our hearts.  May God give you strength and remberance of all the good times you and your father had and forgetfullness of any bad times.

Sounds like the kind of man we'd all admire.  You were very blessed indeed.

Mac, not having an orthodox religion, my prayer is Kris Kristofferson's "Burden of Freedom". You can find it on the web and I hope it supports you as it does me.

Mac,
I will keep you and yours in my prayers. Having lost a favorite Uncle, and good friend very suddenly a few years back, it's still amazes me how much one person can touch your life and that of others. His name is brought up every week in one way or another, and I figure that to be a tribute to his life. He' had been such a big part of our lives and he'd be happy that we remember him so often.
God Bless ,
Don

I feel your pain, I too lost my father about 18 months ago.  He was due for his 2nd open heart surgery and he knew he wasn't strong enough to recover and be independent again so being the stubborn independent man that he was, he got the last laugh.  Rather than have his broken down heart be the end of him, he got out his 243 Remington and put an 85gr hollow point through it.  We hated to lose him but he went out on his terms at a time of his choosing, not in some hospital bed with tubes hanging out.  That alone would have killed him.

sorry for your loss,
Ian

My prayers coming your way Mac.  My father is still with us.  I often think about the day he will no longer be with us.  Then, I think about the time we don't spend together.  With work and the wife, kid, house work, yard work, ect. it's hard to make time.  We hunt together and fish together but it's only a few days a year.  It's kind of sad that we live in the same town and we see so little of each other.  I think I'll give him a call today and see if he wants to get out and do some shooting.   WDO

Good man your father, Haywire. I hope I have the strength and the opportunity to do the same when my time comes.

And you're a good man for understanding that your father did what he needed to do and there is no shame in it in those circumstances.
