"Rednecks Blow Up House With Cannon"
« on: January 14, 2013, 06:30:07 AM »
When I first read the title, I figured this was going to be another vid of a bunch of guys firing projos into an abandoned house, but when I saw the gun set up like a "depression cannon" aimed down beneath the house, I thought things might get interesting. One of the comments says that they used propane gas. "Here, hold my beer."

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

I also wondered how the barrel, carriage, and wheels weathered that storm. It looks like the roof lifted and came down on the side where the cannon was positioned.

Assuming that the cannon was actually used.

I think you can see the cannon near the side of the building just before the house goes up.... I don't think propane or gas was used that tends to send debris flying all over..... I have seen gas explosions....... I think more likely they used a whole bunch of tannerite in the basement.... the explosion was not huge it was enough to take the building apart and fall in on itself it looked almost like an implosion rather than an explosion.....
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

I saw the effects of a bottled gas leak (2 full bottles in a small house).  My inlaws house & because I was first on scene LE at the time, I got to stay.  The explosion blew the bottoms of the walls off the foundation so the walls were like butterflies outside, the roof must have lifted then settled back on the smouldering footprint.  There were bits of roofing & insulation on the roof of the 2 story house next door. The old lady's beagle dog was in the stuffed chair, looking out the window...  was blown into the yard.  The cats did not fare as well.  I was with the family the next day as we searched the ruins for anything recoverable.  Found her strong box (bills burned but exchangeable by bank) & jewlery.

I think that you can still see the cannon in the same position where it first appeared, when the ATV riders make their run for a safe distance, and that’s the same spot where the initial charge goes off. Let’s put it this way, for these boys the gun probably had to be the source of ignition, it’s like the cherry on top of a sundae.

No, this is what they meant by 'bringing down the house".
