  An American pastor currently imprisoned in his native Iran because of his Christian faith will go on trial next week before a judge known for meting out harsh sentences.
Saeed Abedini, will go before one of Iran’s most notorious “hanging judges” on Jan. 21 on charges of compromising national security. Court documents indicate that the charges are directly related to Abedini’s work starting a house church movement, and his supporters say it is a clear case of a Christian being punished for his beliefs..
 
Abedini’s attorney told advocacy group American Center for Law and Justice that most of the charges against Abedini are indecipherable except for one that stems from the year 2000, when he converted from Islam to Christianity. Saeed Abedini has been imprisoned since September, when he returned to Iran to visit family. In a letter written to his wife just days ago, Abedini said his captors have tortured him and given him mixed signals about his fate.
 
“This is the process in my life today: one day I am told I will be freed and allowed to see my kids on Christmas (which was a lie) and the next day I am told I will hang for my faith in Jesus,” Abedini said in the letter. “One day there are intense pains after beatings in interrogations, the next day they are nice to you and offer you candy.”
Abedini, 32, became a U.S. citizen in 2010 when he married his American wife, Naghmeh Abedini. Two years earlier he had become an ordained minister.
 
The Iranian government does not recognize his American citizenship, though it had enabled him to travel freely between both countries until this past summer. That's when he was pulled off a bus and placed under house arrest, according to his supporters.
The case is similar to that of Youcef Nadarkhani, an Iranian Christian pastor who was recently freed after serving three years in prison and then being re-arrested on Christmas Day, all for converting to Christianity.
 
Nadarkhani, 35, initially faced possible execution, but was freed after Fox News and other media outlets drew attention to his plight. His attorney, Mohammed Ali Dadkhah, has been imprisoned and remains in Iran's notoriously brutal Evin Prison, where his health is rapidly deteriorating and he is being denied proper dental care, according to his family. He has been jailed for advocating Nadarkhani's case and other human rights cases.

of Jesus Christ to a people in need of hearing that . He feared for his body but not at all for his soul.
Peter went right into the very heart of Rome to do the same thing. The Romans crucified him upside

courage, yes he has it. true believer apparently. however , he also knew the cost of espouseing those beliefs publicly while in iran. he was iranian and knew full well the potiential cost of his actions.
our government should attempt to get him freed but if they can not he must accept his fate.
i would say he certainly showed very poor judgement to say the least.

Then you don't hear what he is saying to you or your not listening .Your only here for 70 years if your
lucky. God didn't make you to be immortal, he made you to serve him here on earth then join him
for eternity. This is sort of like a filtering process as a result of having a free will .
That is why your brain is what it is. God didn't want mind dead robotic yes men , how boring would that be and what would be the point ? An eternity of existing with nothing but that !

No , he wanted you to question but seek out the truth. He wanted you to be voluntary in obedience
to him. If you want to hang out with him in his house you have got to prove yourself first .
And no better boot camp for learning and proving that to him is there than a life here on this rock.
And if you make the grade of the elite then he has promised us that everything will be reviled to
you. Everything, so you see God is not going to let just anybody come live with him. 
He has had to deal with deception and mutiny before within his own ranks and he does not intend
to go through that again .

It is not about your life here, its about you saving or spreading his word to others who also need to
know. Save as many as you can and let them then decide what direction they want to take .
Golly guys he loves us so dearly he sent his own son here to live like we do. His son was sent to tell
us that we are not forsaken by him but can join him in Heaven . And his son told us how simple that
is to do in our lives . His son was even butchered for what he was telling us, but he arose again to
show us we can have everlasting life and be forgiven of our sins. Things that evil only lies about .


Give God a break and listen to him ! Or go hang out with the other guy and see how forgiving he is .

ANNA. Another good post. This is MY OPINION. He sees the muslims as his brothers and knows they are headed for hell. In the 3rd ch of EZEKIAL chapters 18,19, and 20 I believe pretty well explain what he is doing and why. God said that to see a brother sinning and heading the wrong way and you tell him NOT, then HIS BLOOD, the sinner,  would be on your hands for not warning your brothers. Seems the Pastor believes Gods word in that respect and is willing to sacrifice his own life to warn others. Christians will understand this, others won't. I pray that God intervenes and spares this mans life. POWDERMAN.

Powderman even if God does not intervene to save this mans life . He will not allow his bravery and
faith to be made a mockery of. Folks at times God will lift your burden to bring you closer to him.
Other times he will use that burden to do the same out of your own despair.
Either way he does this because he loves you dearly.
