Update on extraction Rod (Larger Tip ?)
« on: January 15, 2013, 10:23:12 AM »
On my Bisley 45, sometimes a snug case makes it hard on the ole hands to push it out. Doesn't someone make a larger one, or used to ? Or, maybe I just dreamed this up. Sure would be nice to zip them on out. Sometimes they just fall out when the gate is opened and free spin cylinder.
Best,

Does it happen on the same chamber(s)?, if so it/they might need a little more polishing.

Thanks for the reply. Most of time, only one. What is the best way to polish so this will be history for me. I'm begining to really like this Ruger Bisley 45. I really bought it for it's dual purpose, I almost always use the 45 ACP cylinder. I'm learning fast, all my life with revolvers, has been S&W and Colt double action.

Thank you again, let me know best polishing procedure.

Any changes? This long cold winter has put me off more than a bit.......
When I have had issues, a good cleaning is always first. If you have been shooting shorter than full length cartridges, say 44Spl in a 44Mag, then a worn brush that fits the chamber with a wrap of 0000 steel wool and spun with my drill is next. This worked back and forth and a quick swab out and trial fit of a cartridge tells me if anything is happening. You just kinda know if a chamber is hard to stick a cartridge into that its maybe going to have a problem getting them back out. Once everything feels good to go it probably is. If this doesnt do it for you there are more aggressive steps, but lets talk again before going that far.
