GOP eyes new election laws Associated Press  Posted on January 18, 2013 at 10:05 AM
Updated today at 10:05 AM       BOSTON (AP) — After back-to-back presidential losses, Republicans in key states want to change the rules to make it easier for them to win.
From Wisconsin to Pennsylvania, GOP officials who control legislatures in states that supported President Barack Obama are considering changing state laws that give the winner of a state's popular vote all of its Electoral College votes.

Instead, these officials want Electoral College votes to be divided proportionally, a move that could transform the way the country elects its president.
Democrats are outraged at the potential change, saying it's an attempt to rig the outcome in Republicans' favor.
Obama won the popular vote with 65.9 million votes, or 51.1 percent, to Republican Mitt Romney's 60.9 million. Obama won the Electoral College by a wide margin, 332-206.

IMO, both of the last two presidential elections were "Rigged"...

every presidential election i recall, there has been allegations of "Voter fraud"...why hasn't there been for the last two?

there were proven "Irregularities" about ACORN but nothing was done about it...the black panthers actions were blatantly ignored...what does that say?

IMO, people have, half-witted, elected obama for fear of being called racist if they didn't vote for him, because he's half black.

IMO, he will attempt to override presidential term limits to become dictator...

some of the signs are there...we better read and understand them: HISTORY IS REPETITIVE
don't squat while wearing your spurs...will rogers

The electoral votes should be proportional, then everyones vote would count.  as it is, obama thinks he's got a mandate to to rape the country.  a closer electoral count would do away with those misleading mandates.

Unless either side is eliminating new laws added in the past thirty years, either side dickering by adding new rules is asinine and desperate.
Republicans should look  at getting rid of the Rino arses running their party, not voting rules.

Proportional   or  winner  take  all .  All   50  states   should  be  uniform  one  way  or  the  other.

I believe a couple of states do this already.

We should have 2 Presidents!!  If your state goes Democrat you get a Democrat President and If your state goes GOP you get a Republican President!!  You pay your federal taxes to the party your state has selected and you only honor the rules and request of YOUR president the other one can go to HELL I dont care.  Just my .02 worth.  Jim

That could work. the parasites in a republican state would all move to a democrat state, and the productive people in a democrat state would move to a republican state.
we would have states that resembled heaven, and states that resembled the wasteland of the inferno.

They would be best served by offering up a viable candidate.

Searching for some sort of end around is foolishness. What will the excuse be when they run another wishy washy rino and he gets his ass handed to him? Conversely what happens when the Dem.s kick their asses at some future date? They sound like a bunch of 12 year old boys wanting a do over "cause the sun was in my eyes".

Their time would be better spent getting their crap gathered before they try again. I am not going to emulate a Cubs fan forever, "wait till next year", is not a campaign slogan to rally behind boys.

New  laws  could  backfire  on  the  G.O.P.  remember  Al  Gore  and   Florida. Be  careful what  you  wish  for  because  you  might  just  get  it.

Okay, I'm wishing for a change that would not allow people living in a city larger than 30 thousand to vote at all.

Not going to matter at this point. VOTEING conservatives are out numbered. We are going to have to change the cultural ethics of a lot of people or re-balance the numbers in another way.
