Bisley Hunter in .45 LC?

I've seen the SBH Hunters chambered in 45 LC. I've also seen 44 mag Hunters with the Bisley frame, but has anyone seen a Bisley Hunter chambered in 45 LC.  I guess I could always buy the 44 and have the barrel and cylinder reamed out.  I just don't want to pay for custom work if Ruger already makes one.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could buy the Hunter in 45LC and then slap a bisley grip frame on it. I'v seen pics of it done this way,though I don't know of the cost involved versus the reaming. And a blued grip frame looks kinda cool on the stainless.    8)

The Bisley Hunter is a standard Ruger model.  the 45 Hunter as well as the 41 Hunter are distributor editions contracted by AcuSport and davidson's respectfully.  I'd doubt we'll see a Bisley Hunter of either.  It's an easy enough conversion however.  I've got a 45 Hunter myself and a ss Bisley o the way.  May play around and see if I like it as a 45 Bisley Hunter.  More than likely, i'll leave each as they are.

Ruger makes several blackhawks that are not cataloged.
Mdl #KRBN-455W
SS, bisley, 5.5" adjustable sights 45LC.
When you can find them they run under $500.
This revolver with the cor-bon 300gr SP, is one heck of a hunting combo.

FWIW This came up on another forum today.A guy had a SBH Bisley rechambered to 45LC and the smith wouldn't ream the cylinder because of liabilities as it was  marked 44mag, so he had to find an unmarked SS cylinder. and do the grip conversion.

I aquired a SS Bisley 45Lc at a gun show...it looks good shoots good but be carefull who changes frames.....I didnt even know mine had been re-don till later and I pulled the stocks off...it had a Bisley frame installed and who ever did it, used different srews to hold it on and also buggered the frame.....needless to say I have a shooter and not a future collector.....hahaha....lI have contacted Ruger at one point and if my memory is correct the Bisley frame in SS was well over a $100......live and learn....I have both frames, and much prefer the Bisley for recoil and feel...just my thoughts....WW1

WWI,

    If the gun you picked up had the standard Bisley cylinder (rollmarked) and gripframe had a 5.5" bbl and was stainless,  it's one of the AccuSport edition models.  There were 3 runs made.  One in .44, one in .41 and one in .45.  Only stainless Bisley's Ruger has bulit with the exception of the Bisley hunter but that's a diff model altogether..
   The deal with the buggered screws sounds like maybe someone removed the gripframe to possibly change the springs.  
    These models are somewhat sought after but not really collectables especially if they've been used.  Mine should be here w/in a week and it's not going to be some safe queen.  Shoot it and enjoy it!  Just be safe in the process. :-)

Blkhawk73....mine was changed from the standard frame to a Bisley frame and has an action job also....when they changed the frame is when the odd screws came into being.....thanks goodness they did a bestter job on the action than on the frame.....anyway maybe someday I will find one of the accusport guns as I would love to have a quality gun....till then I will shoot the one I have....Rob (ww1)

Thanks for the responses!  An Accusport Bisley is on my "list" either a 44 or 45.  How difficult is converting a standard BH, or in this case a BH Hunter?  I don't own any single actions, so I was wondering if this could be a do-it-yourself project or if I'd need a gunsmith to do it.  Also, what's a good source for the Bisley frame, trigger, and hammer?  Thanks again!

Converting a non-Bisley model over to a Bisley copnfiguration is an easy swap.  It's basically just a swap of the gripframe, trigger and hammer.  The only pain can me fitting the gripframe to the cylinder frame.   On a blued gun this will requiring a rebluing afterwards proberly.
