just more reasons why we should have them. If EVERY citizen in the country had an ar with a pile of 30 round mags even the military with all there equiptment would have a hell of a time killing us all before we got to them!
How large a capacity magazine do you need - to defend yourself against a unjust and oppressive government, you need exactly what they have whether it is 20, 30, 40 or 50 or 100.  Whatever they use is exactly what you need, period.

For personal sport or hunting - you decide on how many rounds you want to carry.

But they have real assault weapons, machine guns, fighter jets, tanks, helicopters, bombs and missiles. So no hope of common folks defending themselves from the govt.

Kinda like sitting a jury when inadmissible evidence is brought forth.  The jury is then told to disregard said evidence.  Simply ain't gonna happen!  The times in which we now live along with the crap we are bombarded with daily make this not possible and to think otherwise is just silly.  Long story short, I will continue to use what I deem proper for the job at hand.

Yea I know and most topics get better when they wander some.

Yep, if it wasn't for wandering occasionally we would just tread over the same territory all the time.  :D

I say 20.  In pistols that would include the OEM mags for the wonder 9's.  In AR types, one can't shoot prone with a 30.  I can live with 20s.

When push comes to shove they are going to BBQ your butt just like they did very recrently to that guy in CA. It won't matter how big the mag is or how many you got.

there is no NEED clause anywhere in the Second Amendment just as there is no NEED clause anywhere in the Bill of Rights. It is my right. I have no NEED to justify my RIGHTS.

It wasn't about our rights or the govt. it was what do most really need/use. I agree if we can tote it , hold it up and fire it it is our business how many really. But what do most see as the ideal amount for hunting or target shooting ?
As for the BBQ only if we don't hang together , just look at how things are dieing down as the American public makes known their concern.

I love how the lawmakers that have never even touched a gun try to tell the hunters just what they need... they say "you can't hunt with an assault rifle" i say why not? They say "you can hunt just fine with a bolt action or single shot(or whatever they say)" ...they say "it doesn't take XX rounds to kill a deer" i say... let them look a pissed off injured coyote in the face right at dark with a single shot. They're not gonna say that's enough gun. In that situation, they'd be wishing for an automatic with a 100 round drum, just to be sure

the gov' has raised the issue of hunting knowing full well that the Second Amendment has absolutely nothing to do with hunting. It is  a side show. The Second Amendment has everything to do with keeping the government in line and they know it.

Oldshooter:  I have no doubt you will be able to use your ammo for barter when the shtf.  I have heard from more than one source that ammo is more valuable than the gun itself.  Being able to reload most any caliber makes one a valuable assset to the, ummmm, shooting community.

the Chicoms would not swim. They would come over in troop transports disguised as container ships. How many troops could they fit in a 1000 ft container ship with 8'x40'x8' containers of oh say 2000 containers per ship?

Just enough so that if you torpedoed those ships and sank them to the bottom you would have a lot of floatin' fried ricers.....

Wait a minute - if they want kalifornika, let them have it.  They will keep it for a couple of years, see how fruitless it is to try and control those who live there and go back to china.  Hell, the mexicans only want it because they are too dumb to realize how bad off the state has gotten and even if they finally do get it back by the sheer volume of population what are they going to have - a real new mexico but with the same level of poverty and loss of opportunity as old mexico.  los angeles will probably be its own city-state by then and the chinese mexicans can have the rest.  When china sees how expensive it is to support all those illegal aliens they will just usher their troops back into their container boxes and go home, and leave us with the same mess we have now.....  Hey, why do you think the chinese have closed borders, eh??

I've got 30 & 20 round mags and I haven't come across any 10 rounders or I would have a couple of those as well.  I think I'd prefer a 10 round mag for carrying around the fields, as humping 20 or 30 rounds half a day looking for coyotes and seeing nothing is a waste of my energy.

I just sold my DPMS, as I had a line on a Huldra, which fell through, so now I'm on a long wait for a Huldra X-Pre-1, but since most coyotes are now sporting rubbed pelts, I guess I can wait it out.

When coyotes start their breeding season around late February or Early March they start to rub off guard hairs which makes them practically worthless to a fur buyer.  They rub about everything to leave their scent etc and that makes their fur look like someone with a bed-head.

A short course on prime winter fur  - prime winter fur is attained when the guard hairs and underfur have just reached their resting stage after the hair growth stage cycle (which produces the hair to grow to its maximum length), which usually starts in late October.  The coyotes hair ceases to grow once it enters the resting stage and the guard hairs or under fur has the greatest number of hairs per follicle, which can be almost double the number of summer fur.  On a coyote the lighter colored fur usually brings the best price.  In the colder climates, a coyote can have a prime pelt as late as mid-March, but that's not common.  Late November, December and January usually brings the best prices.

true Mikey but you need to KNOW there is a force of chicoms in those containers to justify a torpedo. Tens of thousand of containers enter the USA every year. Some contain goods we need. We literally do not have enough torpedoes to sink every container ship. We, being a people of laws, need just cause to sink a foreign flag vessel. Now if we knew which one contained the chicoms, well that is another matter entirely.

Now if the liar-in-chief has his way and destroys our economy, there are many countries that look upon us with envy. If we lost most of our military through deliberate government neglect, how may rounds would you or I want in a magazine if 200,000 chicoms did land on our west coast?

With the 16.5+ trillion dollar debt and the liar-in-chief espousing unlimited debt spending the destruction of our economy is more than a fantasy. It is a nightmare and a very real possibility. It may come to the Militia of the People to defend our shores and lands. I pray not but I do keep my AR15 with loaded magazines. "to keep and bear arms" against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The domestic part was not an afterthought. The Founding Fathers were all too familiar with tyranny from a sitting government, such as we have now.
