Customer made field carriage
« on: January 24, 2013, 09:32:50 AM »
Many of our customers build their own carriages. This photo of a BROOKS-USA 69 caliber 24PDR was submitted by a customer who has shown notable carriage building skills. Thought some of you would enjoy this.

Ummm... I hate to cast aspersions but......I would love to see closeups of that carraige.... There is a non firing cannon with a carraige like this with pot metal hardware and this appears to be one of those...... someone sold one of your barrels on one of these some months back on ebay.
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

Thanks Zulu. I didn't ask which components he purchased, but there is alot of interest in well made spoked wheels. Are you making spoked wheels for sale?

A very nice looking carriage 8) . Maybe someone could make molds from the hardware even IF it is zinc ?

Michael,
No Sir, I'm not making wheels.
I have not figured out a way to make them where they could be reasonably priced. :P

This is the same cannon that Dockholidaiy posted [ NOV. 6, 2012 ] as for sale on Ebay,  item # 281017050540, that was thought to have plastic wheels. The same picture is in that listing. It's location then was Twin Falls, Id.  This was not Dockholidaiy's cannon, he just pointed out that it was for sale on Ebay. The Ebay posting can still be looked at....... Gary

Darn good detective work, guys.  8)   I obviously missed the initial thread--but enjoyed reading it after the fact....  I like the look of the brass 24PDR mounted on the maple field carriage--looked solid, can only hope it will prove to be.  Will keep looking for the "reel" deal wheel....
