This morning I'm getting all kinds of weird screens that say I do not have permission to use this, or that server and some threads have no return to menu, etc. etc. I have to wonder if this will be posted. But here goes.

Okay it got posted, but the screen that I got right after posting is a screen that said "Forbidden."

MAGOOCH. Been getting that for quite a while. I've lost countless replies because of it. I got it clicking on your post. I've found that DBL clicking helps. POWDERMAN.

This is the first time I've ever seen anything like what is going on here this morning. Right now I'm using Internet Explorer, but I'm going to switch to Google Chrome and see if it gets better.

I've been occasional screens like that for a couple days - usually works okay the second time I try it.

Now I'm on Google Chrome and so far, so good. I did notice a change on the Internet Explorer icon on my desktop. It is now identified with a number 3 attached to it. Maybe someone has hacked IE. Anyway it's going to get scanned.

Me too. Firefox gets rid of those annoying chevy pop-ups, but it don't help in GBOs server.
It's nothing with anyones browser.
After talking with my daughter (apple person) and showing her this site, she said the software was a little out-dated. her boyfriend said the same and he's some kind of advisor is that sort of thing.

I spoke with Matt about this last night. He says he needs to shut down the Atlanta server and do some work. I don't think he has set a time for it yet. When he's ready to do it he will post to let folks know it's gonna be down.

I've told him we need to make this happen soon.

I had a bout of that about two weeks ago---I figgered Matt knew about it.
I have not had but limited annoyance since.

The liberals found out about it and are jamming it so we get frustrated and go to their sites that are trouble free. Should I have posted this on the conspiracies site?

That makes sense, yesterday my Sophos antivirus program picked up a virus from here. Hopefully Matt can get a handle on it.

It's NOT only here. Today the hacker group anonmymous hacked Home land security in DC. I think they also hacked another government agency as well but I missed which one. They say they are now going after the US with a passion.

I'm sure we're not the only site being attacked by the Chinese but they do seem to like messing with us. Tim and me dump or ban chinese spammers all the time and Matt says they are attacking our server trying to hack into it like anonmymous did the government today. Why? I honestly have no clue why folks do things like this.

I do know that being one of the larger gun related sites makes us a target for anti gunners who have hacking ability also.

Something needs attention in our Atlanta server, Matt just has to find the right time when he has both the time to do it and can shut the site down for a few hours. When he does it the site will not be accessable at all because he will disable it.

In spite of a good many folks saying they are having the various problems listed here it just isn't happening to everyone or even the majority of folks. I will very rarely see a message that page can't be found or even more rarely the forbidden page. If I refresh all is generally back to normal. Even so I might see one of the messages once a week or so and that's about it. Judging by time on line in the stats I don't think anyone other than Tim has more time logged in than me. But Charlie you are in third place and shootall is in fourth and you both might be online more than me most days.

Lately I've not been on line all that much. I have had an infection in my left eye that has kept me away from the computer mostly and my shoulders are hurting me a lot lately. I will see a surgeon on Feb. 4 to discuss when he can operate. The pain has reached a level I can't continue to live with. I've been putting the surgery off for years but can't continue to do so. When that happens I'll likely be off line for the most part for a few months. Even if I get online I won't be doing much reading and nearly no posting.

For those of you losing posts while attempting to post them I have a suggestion to stop that. Just highlight all of your post BEFORE hitting POST and copy it. Then if you get the bad page just paste it back in and try again.

I get maybe one instance a month when mine fails to post like that. Almost every time I just hit the back arrow and it takes me back to the page to post it again. I will then copy it if I didn't before and check the thread to see if it really posted which most times it did. If not I then proceed to post it again since I have it copied.

Until Matt can make time to work on the server in Atlanta I don't have a better work around.

GB. THANKS, I've been doing that, copying my post first, then resubmitting it. Something else seems to help is when hittin POST, dbl click it quickly. POWDERMAN.
